NBC is a broadcast network while CNBC is a cable network. “FCC rules on profanity don't apply to utterances on cable networks,” former FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said in a reply to an ABC7 Chicago reporter requesting clarification under the circulating post on X. Cable networks are not prohibited from airing indecent or profane content.

CNN —DJ Casper, born Willie Perry, Jr., has died after a battle with cancer, his wife told CNN affiliate ABC7 Chicago on Monday. Casper was responsible for the popular song “Cha Cha Slide,” which came out 23 years ago this month. Coming off of his “Cha-Cha Slide: The Original Slide Album,” the track gave way to a popular line dance that is still performed at events all over the world. Casper told ABC7 during an interview in May that he was surprised by his song’s international success. “When I first did it, I did it as an aerobic exercise for my nephew at Bally’s,” he said.

DJ Casper, the creator of the “Cha-Cha Slide,” an infectious song from the early 2000s that sparked an international line-dance craze that rivaled the Electric Slide and drew people to the dance floor at wedding receptions, bar mitzvahs and family cookouts, has died. His wife, Kim Bradshaw, confirmed his death in a statement to ABC7 Chicago. No cause was given, but Casper had cancer for several years. Highland Park students planned a walkout for gun control that was interrupted by concerns a student brought a gun. According to an update from Highland Park Police, the scene was declared safe later that morning. The scene has been secured and law enforcement has confirmed that there is no credible reason to continue the lockdown at Highland Park High School," the update read. Highland Park Police and Highland Park High School did not respond to Insider's request for further comment. Seven people were killed and dozens injured during the Highland Park mass shooting last year.
