London CNN —Baby Boomers may be expected to live longer than their predecessors, but a recent study has found that they are more likely to suffer from worse health than previous generations. It covered several generations, including the Greatest Generation (born before 1925) and Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and 1959), according to the study. Younger post-war cohorts, like Generation X, are also at risk of worse health than the generation preceding them, Gimeno said. “Generation X were more likely to be obese, have diabetes, and be in poor mental health than Baby Boomers in their 40s,” said Gimeno. The analysis of 135,000 people living in England suggested that although they’re living longer, their lives weren’t necessarily healthier.

At only 20 works — 18 prints and two books under glass — “Wanda Gág’s World” is hardly a world at all. It’s a window into one. But the view is worth it: a graphic artist hypersensitive to printmaking and perception, and maybe miscast for the hundred years we’ve known of her. Born in Minnesota to Bohemian immigrants, Wanda Gág fulfilled her artist father’s dying words — “What Father began, Wanda will have to finish” — when she reached New York in 1917, at age 24, first to pursue fashion illustration and then children’s books.

Cheng Pei Pei, a trailblazer for women in Asian martial arts cinema and a star of the 2000 blockbuster “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” died on July 17 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ms. Cheng was born on Jan. 6, 1946, in Shanghai. Trained in ballet and traditional Chinese dance, she began her acting career in Hong Kong in 1964 and became one of the stars of the wuxia genre of martial arts films. Her breakout role was in the mid-’60s kung fu classic “Come Drink With Me.”“Our mom Cheng Pei Pei wanted to be remembered for who she was: the legendary ‘Queen of Martial Arts,’” her family said in a statement. “She loved being an actress and knew, even with her hard work, how fortunate she was to have the career she had.”

Ventas' portfolio includes senior housing communities, medical office buildings and other health-care facilities. Bank of America sees "significant" senior housing operating margins upside ahead, driven by cyclical and secular growth. However, a nonrenewal and a conversion of the properties to Ventas' senior housing operating portfolio would provide an additional 1.2% boost to net operating income, he said. That said, Ventas is not the only senior housing REIT that Bank of America likes.

A vast $90 trillion wealth transfer over the next 20 years will likely make millennials "the richest generation in history," according to estimates from global real estate consultancy Knight Frank. "The millennials are very ill prepared … they're not as well prepared as the wealth creating generation," Salvatore Buscemi, co-founder and managing partner of multi-family office Brahmin Partners told CNBC. "They don't have the skill sets earlier on to be able to do that because they never had to - they were never pushed," he said. "And the problem is - are they going to be motivated later in life to push themselves to acquire these skill sets?"

CNN —Bolivia has arrested more than a dozen high-ranking military and intelligence officials following a failed attempt to unseat the country’s president in a coup allegedly led by its former army chief. All three men are among 17 people arrested so far in connection with Wednesday’s events – most of them members of the military, the report says. Other top officials arrested include military intelligence chief Julio Buitrago. As he was being arrested Zúñiga alleged – without providing evidence – that he was acting on Arce’s instructions. The investigation into Wednesday’s events will continue until all “participants” in the coup are identified, according to the Bolivian government report.

I talked to Samuel Freedman, a Columbia Journalism School professor, about his recent book about Humphrey and the 1948 Democratic convention in Philadelphia. The book’s title, “Into the Bright Sunshine,” is taken from a line in Humphrey’s rousing speech on civil rights. In 1968, the Democratic Party was operating under old rules in which primary voters actually had relatively little direct effect on delegates. When Strom Thurmond and the Dixiecrats bolted from the Democratic Party in 1948, that’s the beginning of the vast majority of the White South becoming Republicans, stepping away from the Democratic Party. Show me a major Republican politician in the MAGA movement who is a fervent supporter of civil rights legislation.
