CNN —After recent burglaries at homes of professional athletes – including Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce – the NFL has issued a security bulletin to teams and the players union warning that “organized and skilled groups” are increasingly targeting players’ residences for such crimes. The memo, issued Wednesday and obtained by CNN, warns that players across multiple sports leagues are being targeted. Perpetrators “appear to exploit team schedules to target athletes’ homes on game days,” and appear to be using public records, social media, media reports and surveillance to gather information on their targets, it says. That home belongs to Mahomes, the Chiefs’ quarterback, CNN affiliates KCTV and KSHB reported. Burglaries reported at NBA players’ homesReports of burglaries at the homes of NBA players have also recently emerged.

CNN —The Kansas City-area homes of Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were burglarized last month, according to multiple local news outlets citing authorities. Deputies responded to the first reported burglary shortly after midnight on October 6 at a home in Loch Lloyd, Missouri, a criminal report from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office states. That home belongs to Mahomes, the Chiefs’ quarterback, CNN affiliates KCTV and KSHB reported. There was no forced entry and “deputies completed an investigation and a report was taken,” according to the criminal report. The home was believed to belong to Kelce, the Chiefs tight end, KCTV said.

CNN —The Kansas City Chiefs maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 26-13 win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Both players had been signed mid-season to cover for the growing injury list Kansas City is dealing with. But two more Butker field goals rebuilt Kansas City’s lead before another Saints TD once again made it a three-point game. Worthy was able to celebrate the moment in a special way, giving the touchdown ball to his mother in the stands to celebrate her birthday before exchanging a hug. A final Butker field goal capped off the victory as the Chiefs continued their excellent opening to the season.
