Delphi law enforcement have long held they believe the “Bridge Guy” shown in the video is the main suspect in the case. Prosecutors drew attention to the .40-caliber unspent round found by the girls’ bodies, which a prosecution expert testified matched Allen’s pistol. The prosecution has also tried to match Allen with the video and audio recording of the “Bridge Guy” captured on Libby’s cellphone. “Richard Allen is ‘Bridge Guy,’” McLeland told jurors.

He has pleaded not guilty to four charges, including two counts of murder and two counts of felony murder, court records show. Liberty "Libby" German and Abigail "Abby Williams were found dead after going on a hike in February 2017 in Delphi, Indiana. FBIOn Tuesday, a cell phone forensic expert testified that data from Libby’s cell phone shows someone inserted a headphones cord into the phone on the night the girls went missing and then removed it five hours later, according to WTHR. CNN —The Justice Department sued Alabama on Friday over the state’s recent effort to remove more than 3,000 names from its voter rolls, arguing the move violated federal law prohibiting such action from taking place too close to an election. But in an 18-page lawsuit filed in federal court in Alabama, the Justice Department argued that the so-called voter roll purge ran afoul of the National Voter Registration Act, which governs how and when most states can execute large-scale changes to their lists of registered voters. Nonpartisan election law experts say it’s almost always caught when it does happen, and that it isn’t a widespread problem plaguing US elections. The new lawsuit expands the legal fight against Alabama’s actions, which had been challenged earlier this month by voters in the state, including several impacted by the purge. “I was elected Secretary of State by the people of Alabama, and it is my Constitutional duty to ensure that only American citizens vote in our elections,” Allen said.

CNN —Some Delta Air Lines passengers are recovering after a pressurization issue on a flight from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Portland, Oregon, caused bloody noses and other issues, according to airline and passenger statements. “We sincerely apologize to our customers for their experience on flight 1203 on Sept. 15,” said a statement from a Delta spokesperson. Delta technicians fixed the pressurization issue on the aircraft, the airline said, and the plane was returned to service the following day. Caryn Allen told CNN affiliate KSL that said it didn’t take very long for passengers to notice something was wrong on the flight. No serious injuries were reported, but medical personnel identified 10 individuals in need of evaluation or treatment following the flight.

Economists are expecting that the August report should reaffirm that the labor market is merely cooling versus outright weakening. Inflation had cooled, and the labor market was rolling right along and doing its part to keep consumers spending and the economy churning. Friday’s jobs report should provide further reassurance that the labor market is merely softening and not collapsing, economists predict. “It would be a mistake to define the labor market as being excessively weak at this stage.”Instead, the signals indicate that the labor market has moved from being extremely strong and into better balance, she said.

CNN —The number of available jobs in the US shrank more than expected in July, an indication that demand for workers continues to wane amid a cooling labor market. Wednesday’s data is the first in a series of critically important economic metrics released this week about the US labor market, culminating with the Friday jobs report. As the labor market has slowed, it’s come back into balance: There are now nearly 1.1 jobs available for every person looking for one. The monthly jobs report for July showed gains of just 114,000 — far below expectations — and the unemployment rate shot to 4.3% from 4.1%.
