Brown on Wednesday became the latest university to threaten students with punishment if they did not leave a pro-Palestinian encampment set up on campus. The school said that 90 students would face “conduct proceedings” if they did not clear out. The warning followed arrests of demonstrators this week at other universities across the country, including Yale, New York University, Ohio State and the University of Minnesota. Nine people were arrested Tuesday morning at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus after they formed an encampment that went against school policy, the university told CNN in a statement. The university's Department of Public Safety received reports Tuesday morning of an encampment near the Northrop Mall on the Twin Cities campus, the statement said. Police arrived around 6 am local time and told those at the encampment "they were in violation of both University policy and state trespassing law," they said. Police asked the group to disperse by 7 am and told they would be arrested if they stayed. The university said in its statement it "supports and respects free speech through lawful protest" and "supports the rights of all members of our University community to speak and demonstrate peacefully."

I fully agree that at 83 I wouldn’t be fit to lead this country. Some qualities are lost with age, some are gained with age, and some are just intrinsic irrespective of age. To the Editor:A beautiful story about an aging doctor who is a marvelous man. Indeed, an uplifting personal story that stands on its own, untainted by the political chaos that drags us down.

For years, Lopzang Dadul herded his yaks, sheep and goats across the vast, vertiginous landscape near India’s contested border with China, following the seasons to find grazing land. All these areas are winter grazing areas of Chushul village. He says 60 of the 113 households in his village used to be nomadic; now only 10 are maintaining the tradition due to those factors and lost grazing lands.
