Almost all children catch RSV at some point before they turn 2, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. Here’s how to assess when to keep your child home from school and when to visit the pediatrician, according to experts. Ideally, public health professionals would like it if no child showing symptoms were sent to school or day care, where they could potentially spread infections Schaffner said. Again, here is where schools may have different policies and it becomes important to check with written information, a school administrator or school nurse, Wen said. “Parents should know that treating RSV and other respiratory infections is the bread and butter of pediatricians and emergency physicians,” Wen said.
She suspected the gray and brown splotches spreading through the apartment were mold and had caused her son’s illness. A nationwide affordable housing crisis has wreaked havoc on the lives of low-income families, like Joseph’s, who are close to the brink. Housing instability — such as having trouble paying rent, living in crowded conditions, or moving frequently — can have negative consequences on health, according to the federal Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. And there is no county in the country where a minimum-wage worker could afford a two-bedroom rental home, according to an August report from the National Low Income Housing Coalition. A few months after leaving the apartment, Joseph and her two children moved in with her sister in Orlando, Florida, with their remaining possessions — a car and some clothes.
Survivors included a woman who gave birth at a makeshift medical centre in a tent. "The conditions are steep," President Joko Widodo said of the rugged terrain as he visited Cianjur. Search efforts focussed on Cijedil village, where about 30 people were thought to be buried under a landslide, Joshua Banjarnahor of the national search and rescue agency, told reporters. Rain-soaked slopes and potential landslides were delaying rescue efforts, the search and rescue agency said on Wednesday, adding the likelihood of finding survivors was getting slimmer. Monday's quake was particularly deadly because it struck a densely populated area at a depth of just 10 km (6 miles).

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Hebe de Bonafini, who became a human rights campaigner when her two sons were arrested and disappeared under Argentina’s military dictatorship, died Sunday, her family and authorities reported. She became president two years later and led the more radical of two factions of the organization until her death. Both had been members of leftist militant groups, one of them armed, de Bonafini later said. But they began gathering every Thursday, walking counterclockwise around a clocktower in the center of the plaza. Her defense of Kirchner and his wife and successor, Cristina Fernández, sometimes led to friction with other human rights groups who had criticized some of the leftist administration’s policies.
[1/4] Morticians carry the coffin during the funeral of one of two victims of a missile that hit a southeastern Polish village near the border with Ukraine, in Przewodow, Poland November 19, 2022. Two grain drying facility workers were killed when a missile crashed into the tiny village of Przewodow earlier this week while Russia was firing missiles into Ukraine. Polish authorities say it was a Ukrainian air defence weapon that went astray; Kyiv has called for further investigation. Residents said a victim buried on Saturday had played a big role when the village of barely 440 people mobilised in the early days of the war to help Ukrainian refugees, some 40,000 of whom passed through the surrounding district. The victim buried on Saturday is known as Boguslaw W. in Polish media, which have refrained from publishing both men's surnames to protect their families' privacy.

CNN —Even before their daughter was born in June, Aaron and Helen Chavez knew she would need heart surgery. Data reported to the US government shows that as of Friday, more than three-quarters of pediatric hospital beds and 80% of intensive care beds for kids are full. It may also mean children who have chronic conditions and need procedures or hospital care, but whose conditions are stable, may have to wait. She was very thin for a baby,” Aaron said.

And with more women entering the male-dominated venture industry, firms are being forced to craft maternity leave policies on the fly to accommodate new mothers. Forty years ago, the clubby male world of venture capital admitted so few women that maternity leave as a benefit was effectively nonexistent. "There is no playbook about how to take maternity leave or raise a family while also accelerating your career as an investor." Lux CapitalLike in many male-dominated industries, maternity leave as a benefit for investors doesn't come up in conversation until someone needs it. Mikalsen knows this process intimately because in addition to being a worried mom, she works in health care. Seattle Children’s Hospital says it is seeing double the number patients they would normally see in October. With hospital beds in short supply, Mattie McKoy waited weeks for scans he needed.
Almost all children catch RSV at some point before they turn 2, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says. That way, they know whether a sick child can be treated at home or needs to go to a hospital. Here’s what else parents need to know amid the surge of respiratory illnesses. When it comes to RSV, parents should be especially cautious if their children are preemies, newborns, children with weakened immune systems or neuromuscular disorders, and those under age 2 with chronic lung and heart conditions, the CDC says. And most of all, if anyone is sick – child or adult – they should stay home so they don’t spread the illness.
Barbell strategy The other way to think about diversification — and one we used heavily during this year's choppy market — is the barbell portfolio strategy. And if inflation persists but also economic activity picks up, you better own energy stocks. That also brings more demand into the oil market, so expect oil prices and the energy stocks tied to it to benefit. But using correlations and the barbell method to create a diverse mix of holdings can help you stay invested in market. P&G’s pricing power hangs by a floss

Third-quarter earnings show a company whose pricing power is hanging on by a piece of floss. That suggests people are about to ditch some of their few remaining small joys, even when it comes to necessary goods. The $300 billion consumer goods company led by Jon Moeller said on Wednesday that net sales increased 1% to $20.6 billion, and much of that increase came from jacking up prices. It suggests that the Cincinnati-based company is maintaining some pricing power. Follow @alpgomez on TwitterCONTEXT NEWSProcter & Gamble on Oct. 19 reported net sales of $20.6 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30.
