As the Federal Reserve starts to cut interest rates, it makes sense that investors might turn to dividend stocks. In slow tightening cycles, fast dividend growers have outperformed slow growers and high yielders, the firm found in its analysis. The fastest growers are defined as the top 25% of the S & P 500 payers by trailing one-year dividend growth, while the slowest are the bottom 25%. We looked within the top 25% of S & P 500 dividend stocks by trailing one-year dividend growth. They also have a dividend yield of more than 2% and an upside of 10% or more to the average price target.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign was dealt a blow on Monday when a judge ruled that his petition to appear on New York’s ballot was invalid, saying Mr. Kennedy had used a “sham” address to maintain his New York residency. Tropical Storm Debby, which came ashore as a category 1 hurricane along the Florida coast early Monday, will move across the Southeast on Tuesday at roughly the speed of a human walking. Like Debby, both storms stalled over the region and became reminders that a hurricane’s hazards can persist and intensify for days after it makes landfall.
