A San Francisco woman is suing McDonald's over a hot coffee that spilled and burned her. The coffee spilled and gave her severe burns in her groin area, the court filing said. The most famous scalding incident came in 1994 when 79-year-old Stella Liebeck sued McDonald's for a hot coffee burn. Liebeck initially received a $2.9 million jury award after receiving third-degree burns from spilled McDonald's coffee. Years later in 2014, a Los Angeles woman sued McDonald's for allegedly serving her a hot coffee drink that badly burned her.

Rep. Lauren Boebert apologized after footage of her behavior while watching "Beetlejuice" was released. Boebert, who initially said she did not vape at the show, said she "genuinely" did not recall doing so. A pregnant woman who asked Boebert to stop vaping told the Post that Boebert lashed out and called her a "sad and miserable person." In the video, Boebert appears to be seen putting something to her lips and blowing out aerosol mist. Boebert said in a statement sent to Insider that she "genuinely did not recall vaping that evening" when speaking with her team about what had happened.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network, which said the incident was linked to the protests, said special forces entered the ward, beat up the women and fired pellet bullets. In a separate incident, human rights group Hengaw said security forces opened fire in the Kurdish city of Mahabad, wounding at least one person. Earlier, social media and reports by rights groups spoke of security forces taking up positions around Amini's home in Saqez, in western Iran. Speakers led the crowd in chants of "Say her name ... Mahsa Amini," and also recited "We are the revolution" and "Human rights for Iran!" They claim the Florida Constitution's privacy clause for more than 40 years has explicitly protected a right to abortion in the state. Florida officials contend the Supreme Court has in the past erroneously concluded the privacy clause covers abortion rights when it was actually intended more as a guard for “informational privacy, like the disclosure of private facts." The six-week ban DeSantis signed into law earlier this year would take effect 30 days after a Supreme Court decision to affirm the current ban. The privacy clause was put into the Florida Constitution by a voter referendum in 1980 and later affirmed as including abortion rights by the state Supreme Court. An appeals court overturned the injunction, bringing the case before the state Supreme Court.

REUTERS/Octavio Jones/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsSept 8 (Reuters) - The future of abortion rights in Florida will be at stake on Friday when the state's highest court hears arguments over whether the Florida constitution protects the right to end pregnancies. The case before the conservative Florida Supreme Court concerns the state's current ban on most abortions after 15 weeks, which took effect after the U.S. Supreme Court last year overturned a national right to abortion. The outcome will also determine the fate of a stricter six-week ban, which has been on hold since Governor Ron DeSantis signed it into law in April. One justice, Charles Canady, is married to a state representative who co-sponsored the six-week ban. But if the court throws out the 1989 decision, Torres-Spelliscy said, it would be nearly impossible to mount a successful legal challenge to the six-week ban.

The finding unleashed a mad scramble to find out what exactly the parasite was, Canberra Hospital infectious disease expert Sanjaya Senanayake told CNN. “We were able to send the live wiggling worm to him, and he was able to look at it and immediately identify it,” Senanayake said.
