Mindy Kaling has created multiple successful shows. Mindy Kaling attends the 2024 Met Gala. After starring on "The Office" (which she also wrote for), Kaling co-created and starred in her own sitcom, "The Mindy Project," which aired for six seasons. Her Netflix series "Never Have I Ever" was a huge hit until it wrapped up in 2023. Kaling also co-created the animated series "Velma," which was almost universally hated … but got enough people hate-watching to greenlight a second season.

"But in the past nine months, open-jaw flights have been less expensive and offer additional flexibility for seeing multiple destinations without being rushed." Manuel Romano/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesBhagwan told BI that she often suggests open-jaw flights for clients, especially those traveling to Europe. BI previously reported that these flights are typically cheaper than one-way flights. And a train from Rome to Barcelona may cost around $80, according to Rail Europe, so open-jaw flights would save $220. I moved to Los Angeles about five years ago from San Francisco, and I previously lived in New York City and Chicago. LA lacks great parks compared to other cities like San Francisco and New York City. It doesn't feel urban the way cities like NYC or SF do — I don't feel an urban buzz or excitement. I don't feel any sense of communityI don't feel a strong sense of community in LA. Because it's such a driving culture, I don't interact with people as much as I do in other cities I've lived in.

On its own, the crime of "falsifying business records" in New York is considered a misdemeanor crime. AdvertisementNew York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan explained it clearly in his hourlong instructions to the jury on Wednesday morning. "What you're asking me to do is change the law, and I'm not going to do that," Merchan told Trump's legal team. On Truth Social, Trump posted quotes from Fox News host Jesse Watters, falsely claiming "the jury can pick whatever crime they want." "The other thing, the confusion is, nobody knows what the crime is, because there is no crime," Trump told reporters in the hallway outside the courtroom before he left.

"I wanna be free to garden and travel and not have to worry about the house — but I'm not taking nothing," Morgan told Curbed. "A lot of luxury buyers may already have a primary home, so maybe they're looking for a new investment," StreetEasy Senior Economist Lee said. Related storiesAnd, as The New York Times recently reported, the migrant crisis has also caused a jump in hotel rates. AdvertisementThis has reduced the supply of available rooms and helped drive up prices for guests looking for accommodations across the city. According to CoStar data, the hotels now sheltering migrants have cordoned off roughly 16,500 rooms from the available hotel supply, resulting in nearly 122,000 available rooms for travelers.

The first thing to know about The Portal is that you will feel a strange, overwhelming urge to take out your phone and gaze at it through your phone's screen. Isn't it more interesting to try to interact with those people instead of staring at them through your phone? It feels almost protective — like The Portal is a light so bright you have to view it only through a phone screen, like looking at a solar eclipse through a hole in a cereal box. The Dublin Portal had a bigger crowd than the one in NYC. The Portal in New York is right on 23rd and Broadway, near some seating and a coffee stand.

CNBC's Investing in Space newsletter offers a view into the business of space exploration and privatization, delivered straight to your inbox. The conversation I moderated was on "Big (Geospatial) Data & AI," with the goal of exploring how the two rapidly evolving worlds of satellite data collection and artificial intelligence interact. Simply put, Project Maven at NGA is working on how AI can use satellite imagery and data to detect objects and activities around the world. "As the volume of that data grows, it is beyond the capacity of the human mind to be able to derive any kind of useful understanding from that kind of data," Martin said. And more change is coming: The next step in the evolution of geospatial data and AI, from her view, is applying generative AI "to basically arm non-experts with the ability to expertly use geospatial data."

Things are so bad that even tech workers, who make some of the highest salaries of any profession, are feeling the crunch. Entry-level tech workers made an average of $75,262 in 2023, and could only afford 2.1% of studio and one-bedroom rental apartments in the city, StreetEasy found. "If these tech employees can't afford housing, then who can?" But even as New York City has created 800,000 new jobs in the last 10 years, it's only built 200,000 new homes. The average tech worker makes 52% more per year than the average worker in New York City, the StreetEasy report noted.

I took a first-class train trip on an Amtrak Acela for the first time in 2022. Some things surprised me about the cabin, like the abundance of drink options yet limited food. But Nkenge's dream became a reality when she was selected for a one-bedroom apartment through the city's housing lottery in 2023. The New York City housing lottery program helps residents find affordable housing, including rent-stabilized apartments. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development defines affordable housing as housing costs no greater than 30 percent of a single person's or family's income. Nkenge applied to the NYC housing lottery for three years before she got her one-bedroom apartment in Flatiron. Before winning her housing lottery apartment, Nkenge lived in a small one-bedroom in Harlem.

The 106-square-foot home made smarter use of space than any tiny home I've seen in the US. It had a unique cylindrical shape and was less than half the size of the US tiny homes I've booked. In 2016, I was offered a role as a director of product design at a New York tech startup called UpTop. How I got a job at a New York tech startupI studied business law at college in Ukraine but decided I wanted to follow my passion and become a designer. I worked at three other companies in Ukraine before moving to the US, doing UX and product design. The portal between New York City and Dublin — a giant video installation livestreaming between the two locations — has been shut down due to bad behavior.
