CNN —Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in another civil lawsuit, marking at least the 12th misconduct lawsuit he’s faced in as many months. “At every visit, Defendant Combs would make her ‘perform a show’ for him and would ply her with alcohol and substances until she passed out,” the suit states. In July 2024, according to the complaint, Combs “commanded” Jane Doe to his home in Miami, Florida, and “shoved two pills in Jane Doe’s mouth” upon her arrival. The complaint states Doe feared for her safety after witnessing Combs physically abuse other women. Combs has been accused in about a dozen civil lawsuits of alleged sexual misconduct and other illegal activity.

CNN —An 18-year-old has filed a lawsuit over the ownership of the ball Shohei Ohtani made baseball history with when he became the inaugural member of the 50-50 club. The ball had been put up for auction by auctioneers Goldin, with bids starting at $500,000 and collectors able to purchase it privately outright for $4.5 million. Both Belanski and Kelvin Ramirez indicated on social media that they intended to sell the ball, per the filing. In December 2002, a San Francisco judge ordered the two men to sell the ball and split the proceeds. The ball was eventually sold to comic book creator and producer Todd McFarlane who paid $450,000 for it.

It would allow him to return to school while a federal lawsuit he filed proceeds. George’s federal lawsuit also alleged that his punishment violates the CROWN Act, a recent state law prohibiting race-based discrimination of hair. In February, a state judge ruled in a lawsuit filed by the school district that its punishment does not violate the CROWN Act. The war for the first battleground electoral vote may have been decided this week before a single ballot was cast. The caucus cited concerns that the Legislature would not have oversight over the agency’s operations and declined to comment further on the reparations fund bill because it wasn’t part of the caucus’ reparations priority package. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been hit with five federal charges – including wire fraud, bribery and solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national – according to a sprawling 57-page federal indictment unsealed Thursday. Although the Bentley Suite for two nights would have cost approximately $7,000, Adams paid less than $600, the indictment says. And so, the building opened as requested by a Turkish official who had plied Adams with travel benefits and other gifts, the indictment says. In addition to the free travel and hotel rooms, Adams received illegal campaign contributions from foreign donors, including the Turkish government official, the indictment says. Adams has repeatedly said that his administration is cooperating in the investigations and he's focused on his work as mayor.

Emmanuel Littlejohn, 52, received a lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary and was declared dead at 10:17 a.m. His execution came after Republican Gov. The five executions would also mark another grim milestone — 1,600 executions since the death penalty was reinstated by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. Littlejohn was 20 when prosecutors say he and co-defendant Glenn Bethany robbed the Root-N-Scoot convenience store in south Oklahoma City in June 1992. Littlejohn’s attorneys also argued that killings resulting from a robbery are rarely considered death penalty cases and that prosecutors today would not have pursued the ultimate punishment. Because of the board’s 3-2 recommendation, Stitt had the option of commuting Littlejohn’s sentence to life in prison without parole.

WASHINGTON — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been disbarred from practicing law in Washington, D.C., according to an order filed Thursday by the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Both panels had pointed to Giuliani trying to get thousands of votes for President Joe Biden tossed out in the battleground state of Pennsylvania that year. The D.C. Bar's Board on Professional Responsibility said in a report in June that there was "clear and convincing evidence" that Giuliani "violated Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct" and therefore "should be disbarred." Giuliani also lost his law license in New York state in July over his actions to disseminate lies about voter fraud in the 2020 election. Separately, he faces charges in Arizona and Georgia over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in those states.
