Now, a new study has found those who experience more gratitude also have a lower risk of dying. The researchers used data from the Nurses’ Health Study, which included nearly 50,000 women between ages 69 and 96 who completed a six-item gratitude questionnaire in 2016. The researchers controlled for factors such as psychological well-being, health issues and other demographics including social and religious participation. There’s no clear consensus on how often one should practice gratitude, Simon-Thomas said. Having more gratitude has also been linked to being more optimistic in general, and people who express higher levels of gratitude tend to look more for the good in life, Watkins added.

A new report from Moody's on Wednesday warns that generative AI and deepfakes are among the election integrity issues that could present a risk to U.S. institutional credibility. Congress and the White House use it to decide when to extend jobless benefits or send out stimulus payments. But a new study says the integrity of that data is in increasing jeopardy. But that could soon change, the study warns, citing factors including shrinking budgets, falling survey response rates and the potential for political interference. “We’re not there yet, but if we don’t do something, that threat could become a reality, and in the not-too-distant future.”

Trump’s obvious posturing toward the center was evident on Monday, when the Republican National Committee’s platform committee approved a draft that included language apparently moderating the GOP stance on abortion and same-sex marriageJill Filipovic. That decision has proven disastrous on many levels— especially for women in Republican-run states who continue to suffer the consequences. If leaving abortion to the states was the plan, why have Republicans pushed for national bans in Congress? He backed a national 20-week ban and promised to appoint pro-life judges who he thought would overturn Roe. Earlier this year, he said a 15-week national ban sounded very reasonable; now he doesn’t seem to want to discuss it.
