I'm a frequent traveler spending $1,300 a year on credit card fees to get great perks. My United℠ Explorer Card card has gotten me priority boarding but I'm not sure I want to keep it. For years, I prided myself on using no-fee credit cards that offered a small amount of cash back on purchases. But I changed my mind once I started traveling more and learning about the perks some credit cards offered. Here are my favorite travel card perks, plus a few I've enjoyed but would be OK losing.

Now, I love that my kids have an age difference of 23 months. But something that will bring them even closer together is that though they're almost two years apart, they're in back-to-back grades. My older son's birthday is in June, and my younger son's is in May; my oldest would be one of the younger kids in his class if we'd sent him to kindergarten when he was 5. He is more shy and reserved, so I do worry about him starting school at a younger age. We hope growing up in back-to-back grades will help them bondHopefully, growing up in back-to-back grades will be a bonding experience they can love and enjoy.

BANGKOK — Thailand’s Constitutional Court on Wednesday dismissed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin for appointing to his cabinet a former lawyer who served jail time, raising the specter of more political upheaval and a reset of the governing alliance. Real estate tycoon Srettha becomes the fourth Thai premier in 16 years to be removed by verdicts by the same court, after it ruled he violated the constitution by appointing a minister who did not meet ethical standards. Deputy premier Phumtham Wechayachai is expected to take over as caretaker prime minister. If successful, she would be Thailand’s third Shinawatra premier after Thaksin and her aunt, Yingluck Shinawatra. Other potential candidates include Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga and Prawit Wongsuwan, an influential former army chief who was involved in the last two coups.

☆ Italian sprinter to be first transgender athlete at Paralympic Games

Valentina Petrillo is set to become the first openly transgender athlete to participate in the Paralympic Games after the visually impaired sprinter was selected to represent Italy in the women’s 200 and 400 meters races in Paris. The 50-year-old, who transitioned in 2019, won bronze medals in both events at the World Para Athletics Championships last year in Paris. Prior to transitioning, Petrillo won 11 national titles in the men’s category. International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons told BBC Sport that while Petrillo is welcome in Paris under World Para Athletics policies, he wants to see the sporting world “unite” on its transgender policies. However, the IPC allows governing bodies to set their own policies and World Para Athletics permits an individual legally recognized as a woman to compete in the category for which their impairment qualifies them.

Given the opportunity to park money with the world’s largest private equity firms, ordinary investors rushed in. The private equity firms began to seek out smaller investors almost a decade ago. It was a major shift for firms like Blackstone, Starwood Capital Group and KKR that had previously been funded by enormous pensions, endowments and sovereign wealth funds. But it was also a way for the big fund managers to grow their assets and rake in ever larger fees. The private equity firms had an allure, created by stellar track records, including during the 2008 financial crisis, and the fact that they had been off limits to ordinary (although wealthy) investors.
