Man Group's <develop> program is growing in popularity among non-tech workers. That's the thinking behind Man Group's technology upskilling program, <develop>, which has served as the $144 billion investment firm's answer to a tight tech-labor market. "The level of demand for software engineers outstripped the number of qualified engineers entering the workforce each year," Lara Carty, Man Group's chief people officer, told Insider. It's also spanned a variety of backgrounds, from workers on the trading desk to communications and public-relations employees, Carty said. There's classroom-based learning led by about a dozen of Man Group's top engineers with a mentorship aspect.

I recently tried to eat at McDonald's as a person with celiac disease. McDonald's doesn't claim any of its food as gluten-free so I was very limited in what I could order. McDonald's is one of the largest chain restaurants in the US, with over 13,000 locations across the country. Eating out with celiac is not easy, but restaurant chains often provide a safe haven, given their strict food preparation protocols and allergen lists stamped everywhere. In Italy, for example, McDonald's sells an uninspiring but safe gluten-free burger that is cooked wrapped in plastic to avoid cross-contamination.

Emirates is getting ready to open a store that would allow passengers to check in and drop off their bags without having to go to the airport. Much like an airline desk at any airport, it will also give passengers the option to book travel, according to Emirates. Emirates' robot check-in assistant is called Sara and is equipped to match faces with scanned passports and give passengers instructions.

When Qantas debuts its Project Sunrise flights it will set a new record for the longest non-stop flight in the world. TSA's new technology snaps a real-time picture of a passenger and matches it with their scanned ID. A new facial recognition technology is automatically matching passengers' real-time pictures to their IDs at Baltimore-Washington International/Thurgood Marshall Airport. The Transportation Security Administration has started using 36 new credential authentication technology units at the airport, according to a recent press release. If someone doesn't want their picture taken, they can proceed with a standard ID check with a TSA officer, a TSA spokesperson previously told Insider. TSA started using the technology in 2022, and similar units are also being used at Denver International Airport, and Salt Lake City International Airport, among others.
