A person was shot and and suffered a life-threatening injury Thursday after tackling a pro-Israel demonstrator in Newton, Massachusetts, the district attorney said. A member of the demonstrating group, a 47-year-old man from Framingham, then shot that person, she said. Rome CNN —Hundreds of posters have appeared on billboards across Italy this summer, bearing the slogan: “Russia is not our enemy” and depicting a handshake in the colors of the Italian and Russian flags. In Rome, the posters drew ire from the mayor’s office because they featured both the city’s name and its official symbol. In a decree to local police and the advertising company that owns the billboards in Rome, it ordered the removal of all posters. Earlier this month, they met at the European House’s Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, northern Italy. The Russian propaganda posters have not caused notable outcry among the Italian public, in part because they started appearing during the summer months, when most Italians take their vacations.

CNN —Justin Timberlake is expected to plead guilty to one count of driving while impaired in a deal with Suffolk County, New York prosecutors, who agreed to drop a driving while intoxicated charge against the singer, according to a source familiar with the case. The plea will include a to-be-determined fine, though the judge in the case could impose other penalties and still needs to approve the agreement at a hearing scheduled Friday morning, where Timberlake is anticipated to be in attendance. Before the agreement, Timberlake had pleaded not guilty to the DWI charge, a misdemeanor, back in August. Had he been convicted, he could have faced a maximum of one year in prison and a $2500 fine. Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York in June.
