Kevin Khani was among foreign travellers who got turned around in the Seibu-Shinjuku station recently and found the VoiceBiz window helpful. Across the road from the Seibu station is Shinjuku's central Japan Railway (JR) station, which is the busiest in the world, with some 3.6 million people passing through daily. Weary from a 1 a.m. flight arrival, French tourists Isabelle and Marc Rigaud used the translation window to try to find their way from the Seibu station to the JR station.

It echoes 1,000 years of antisemitic conspiracy theories that Jews are responsible for, yet somehow immune to, plagues and disease – beliefs that led to actual Jews being murdered by angry mobs. No, of course, we’re in Washington, DC, where politics dictates how antisemitism is, or isn’t, tolerated by those with something to gain from it. Really, it was only a matter of time before RFK Jr. stumbled into overt antisemitism. Without exaggeration, many of my Jewish friends have remarked that this mainstreaming of antisemitism reminds them of 1930s Germany. There is no equivalence between a strident anti-Israel remark and the resurrection of age-old antisemitic conspiracy theories.

SoftBank-funded View Inc. has been dogged by regulatory troubles for more than a year and a half. The agency declined to fine View as the company self-reported the liability understatement, cooperated with the investigation, and "promptly undertook remedial measures." The SEC order did find that View violated several securities laws pertaining to negligence-based antifraud, internal accounting controls, and other matters. The firm's controversial CEO, Rao Mulpuri, has managed to raise cash for View multiple times when the company ran perilously low on cash, including from the now-bankrupt financier Greensill Capital. Some of the biggest hedge funds in the world are facing a problem that's proving just as challenging as predicting the markets.
