The bestselling spiritual author and one-time advisor to Oprah Winfrey didn’t make it to the 2020 primaries in a wide-open Democratic field. But Williamson worries that negative perceptions detract from her policy positions, which include financial reparations for Black Americans and creation of a Department of Peace. “The way to sell books is by going on a book tour, not a presidential campaign," she said. Williamson talks at times in religious and spiritual terms to describe America as a nation in need of confession and atonement. "To say, ‘We need a politics of love’ without explaining what that is,” he said.

Journalists in Gaza Become Part of the Story They Feel Compelled to TellPalestinian journalists carried mock coffins in a symbolic funeral procession toward a United Nations office in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Tuesday. (Nasser Nasser/Associated Press)The number of journalists killed while reporting on the war between Israel and Hamas has exceeded the highest monthly death toll previously recorded among those covering conflict, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. Some 39 reporters, photographers and videographers and other media workers, have died during the latest outbreak of violence between Israel and the Palestinian militant group—the vast majority of whom were killed by airstrikes in Gaza. The number is more than half the death toll for those killed in conflicts worldwide last year, according to CPJ.

CNN —Justice Samuel Alito is the tip of the spear for conservatives challenging the Biden administration during oral arguments at the Supreme Court. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar is the Biden administration’s top lawyer at the court, defending the policies that are the source of much of Alito’s consternation. “I think our best example historically is the Customs Service,” Prelogar responded. If that were seat 30A, for example, the next person to take their seat would be the window seat two rows in front — 28A. This would carry on until the even window seats on one side of the aircraft were filled, per The Journal. The even window seats on the opposite side of the plane would come next, followed by window seats on odd rows.

Being tired and not preparing for behavioral questions are two mistakes Rizea sees often. AdvertisementAdvertisementThe only way to overcome this is to practice and recall the theory:Try to solve interview questions on your own, and talk out loud through the solution. I have seen many candidates scheduling interviews after a long day of work or at the end of the work week. But behavioral questions are more subjective, and it's harder to know if you said the right things during a behavioral interview. For behavioral questions, interviewers expect answers along this format:AdvertisementAdvertisementWhat happened?

As Google fights claims that it violated antitrust law to maintain its online search dominance, the company's search lead testified Thursday that young users mock Google as old-fashioned. Prabhakar Raghavan, a Google senior vice president responsible for for products including search, ads and commerce, said that some young users have referred to the search engine as "Grandpa Google." Raghavan testified that Yahoo's search dominance at one point seemed insurmountable. For example, Google has conducted research that's led to features that let it directly answer users' questions, understand voice queries and lens queries, where users search via a photo they take. "We don't see users carrying through these journeys entirely on Google," Raghavan testified.

DETROIT – The United Auto Workers union and Ford Motor have agreed in principle to the terms of a tentative agreement that would end a nearly six-week strike at the automaker, sources with knowledge of the discussions confirmed Wednesday to CNBC. Any deal would still need to be ratified by a simple majority of Ford's 57,000 union-represented workers. The automaker and the union participated in intense bargaining Tuesday and Wednesday in an attempt to finalize a record deal, according to the sources. However, a tentative agreement with Ford would likely be used as a template to negotiate with Stellantis and GM. The union expanded strikes against both of those automakers at major plants this week.

Pretending that Christian enthusiasm for Donald Trump is just some kind of mass psychosis or mob mentality may allow some Christians like Mr. French to feel better about themselves and their churches. But they need to confront a deeper truth: There is something compromised at the core of the white American Christian tradition. Mr. Trump is amoral and irreligious. The only explanation is that Mr. Trump and evangelicals have a symbiotic relationship that puts both in positions of power and influence. Andrew J. ‘Old Dads’: Bill Burr’s Bitter Comedy of Fatherhood

Bokeem Woodbine, Bill Burr and Katie Aselton Photo: NETFLIXThe shtick of stand-up legend Bill Burr is the comedy of the oppressed—the oppressed in question being middle-aged males in a foreign land, i.e. the 2020s, where they can’t say what they want, smoke where they want, win an argument with a woman or lay claim to the victimhood that seems to give everyone else the upper hand. The Burr persona is angry, ironic and, quite often, hilarious. If you find him offensive, it might be because he’s making fun of you. And you might be him.

After graduating, I chose Google over other companies because it offered a lot more support and resources: The Google APM program was proposed by former Google executive Marissa Mayer who started the program in 2002 to recruit fresh talents. Getting into the program is hard — it is estimated that 8,000 people apply to the APM program each year, and only 40-45 get accepted. This is the best part about the APM program — the ability to switch teams. I went to work in the office of the CEO, Sundar Pichai, and did product strategy-related work directly for him.
