Davis, 51, was flying with his wife, two sons and daughter when one of the sons asked for a cup of ice during beverage service, Davis wrote. A flight attendant “either didn’t hear or ignored his request and continued past our row,” the post read. “I calmly reached behind me and lightly tapped (the attendant’s) arm to get his attention to again ask for a cup of ice for my son,” Davis wrote. “During questioning, it was rightfully determined by the agents that this flight attendant was inaccurate in his accusations and the agents profusely apologized,” Davis wrote. United Airlines has “removed the flight attendant from duty while we closely review this matter,” the company said in an email to CNN on Monday evening.

My drugs of choice are social media and online car shopping. While certainly not as instantly gratifying as social media, these tasks gave me a sense of accomplishment when I finished. I've stopped scrolling on Instagram when I wake up, and I no longer feel compelled to check social media incessantly. Whenever I'm working on something now, I resist the urge to watch YouTube or scroll through social media. I still use social media, though I typically schedule content ahead of time and log out after posting.

Analysts at Morgan Stanley designated Apple their top pick, raised their price target to $273 a share and reiterated their buy-equivalent rating. Apple Intelligence, however, represents an entirely new technology with the potential change how we all interact with our devices. And notably, replacement cycles are at an all-time high of 4.8 years, Morgan Stanley estimated. So, the reason to upgrade is going to be Apple Intelligence, a better camera, plus whatever other incremental upgrades we learn about later this year. Both Loop and Morgan Stanley said the AI-driven replacement cycle will lead to an increase in the average selling price of iPhones.

Donald Trump will arrive at the 2024 Republican convention — his Republican convention, finally and completely, without the dissent of 2016 or the pandemic that overshadowed 2020 — closer than ever to a second term. But the likelihood of a Trump restoration has not yet brought clarity about what it would actually usher in. With Trump there is always the whipsaw, the forays toward normalcy and the reversion to a darker mean. Asked on the debate stage whether he would spend a second term seeking revenge on his political enemies, he promised that “my retribution is going to be success. Instead there are Trumpist scenarios and Trumpian personae — whose interactions, if he wins, will give his second term its shape.

CNN —Sex and gender are often conflated or equated in everyday conversations, and most American adults believe a person’s gender is determined by sex assigned at birth. But a new study of nearly 5,000 9- and 10-year-olds found that sex and gender map onto largely distinct parts of the brain. The researchers on the new study defined sex as what was assigned to the child at birth. They also hope to see how different cultures affect a person’s gender and their brain development. The study did not look at whether sex or gender were congruent or incongruent in any study participant.

New York CNN —If you were an AT&T cellphone customer in 2022, your call data was possibly breached to bad actors. AT&T said Friday that data was breached from “nearly all” of its cellular customers and the customers of wireless providers that used its network between May 1, 2022, and October 31, 2022. The records of a “very small number” of customers from January 2, 2023, were also breached, AT&T said. What they did get is metadata — call logs that contain a record of every number AT&T customers called or texted (including customers of other wireless networks), the number of times they interacted and the call duration. The age of artificial intelligence makes this even more pressing, according to Collin Walke, cybersecurity and data privacy partner at Hall Estill.

Brands have turned away from relying solely on Meta and are using many different platforms to acquire new customers, including relatively new channels like TikTok. Measured's data shows that Snap is the cheapest channel for brands to acquire customers. On TikTok, it costs brands $139.58 to acquire a customer, while Meta nets out to $83.16. Forty-seven percent of advertisers bought TikTok ads, and 5% of brands invested in Reddit ads to find customers. AdvertisementWhile Meta, Pinterest, and TikTok get more of Measured's clients to spend, the data suggests that Snap could be an overlooked channel for brands, as it has low acquisition costs.

But there's no denying that a large number of people, mostly women, found Joe Arden's voice to be exceedingly hot: smooth, insistent, husky, occasionally dropping to a seductive growl. Arden's voice made him one of the most popular romance audiobook narrators of his generation. Last year, a promising new romance author reached out to Blue Nose Audio and received a reply from Joe Arden. "My working name of 'Joe Arden,' has always been just that, a professional persona that labeled my career," he added. For good measure, they dug up Cronin's abandoned trademark application for the Joe Arden moniker, first filed in 2020.

A looming ban on vacation rentals in Barcelona. At a time when overwhelmed European destinations are slapping tourists with restrictions and fees, Copenhagen is trying a different approach: rewarding visitors who act responsibly. Beginning July 15, tourists who demonstrate climate-friendly travel behavior by participating in the city’s green initiatives — including cycling, train travel and clean-up efforts — will be granted access to museum tours, kayak rentals, free meals and more. “We must turn tourism from being an environmental burden into a force for positive change,” said Mikkel Aarø-Hansen, the chief executive of Wonderful Copenhagen, the tourism organization for the Capital Region of Denmark. Copenhagen’s new initiative, CopenPay, aims to bridge the gap between the desire to act sustainably and actual behavior by making climate-friendly action a currency for cultural experiences.

My father's steadfast refusal to seek help for his alcoholism resulted in my parents' divorce when I was 14. Semiconductor stocks and technology behemoths get all the acclaim when it comes to artificial intelligence, but RBC Capital Markets is offering up some alternate ways to play the theme. Other technology giants have followed suit, with Amazon closing above a $2 trillion market value for the first time ever last month. Against this backdrop, RBC Capital Markets highlighted some of its favorite ways to play the theme beyond the classic winners, viewing AI as the "next disruptive mega-trend." While the social media giant has already gotten a boost from the trend, RBC Capital Markets expects shares to benefit from a world where digital advertisers market toward AI and virtual assistants. RBC Capital Markets also highlighted a handful of software stocks that could win big as AI proliferates, viewing the tool as a "revenue enhancer and profitability expander" that may take three to five years to materialize.
