Disney's largest shareholder, index fund manager Vanguard, plans to support management over Nelson Peltz's Trian Partners in Wednesday's board vote, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter. Vanguard owns 7.8% of Disney shares. BlackRock , Disney's second -largest shareholder with 4.2% of shares, is also supporting the incumbent board and CEO Bob Iger, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday. The reporting on how Disney's largest shareholders are supposedly voting prompted harsh criticism from one-time shareholder activist Bill Ackman on Tuesday evening. Through an arrangement with former Marvel Chairman Ike Perlmutter, Trian controls 1.8% of Disney shares, making it the fifth largest shareholder.

Why Goldman Sachs is helping its clients launch ETFs
  + stars: | 2024-04-01 | by ( Josephine Rozzelle | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +3 min
Investor demand for exchange-traded funds is not slowing down, and firms without ETF offerings may risk losing business, according to one Goldman Sachs expert. "Any number of our clients would tell you, the opportunity cost of not [offering ETF products] is greater," he recently told CNBC's "ETF Edge." To help clients through the process of launching their own ETF products, Goldman Sachs created its ETF Accelerator, a digital platform that helps clients launch, list and manage their own ETF products. The idea was it made it easier to launch an ETF, but it didn't make it easy," Sachs said. It can still take years to build the expertise, headcount and risk management framework necessary to launch an ETF, said Sachs.

The halving, which cuts the bitcoin mining reward in half to limit supply, is expected in late April. Disclosure: Yusko's firms own bitcoin, ethereum, gold, Coinbase and Nvidia.

Adam Neumann has sent a preliminary offer to buy WeWork out of bankruptcy for more than $500 million, five years after he was ousted by the office-sharing company he founded. CNBC spoke with multiple people familiar with the company and Neumann's offer. Investment firm Rithm Capital, which acquired Daniel Och's Sculptor Capital Management in November, is one of parties interested in financing the bid, sources told CNBC. That's because Neumann has previously named other financing sources in prior communications with WeWork's advisors that haven't come to fruition, the sources say. Baupost Group also was floated as a potential financing source months earlier but didn't join Neumann's latest bid, the people said.

Is the breakout from resistance likely and should you consider allocating exposure to this basket of 2000 small capitalization stocks? I think the breakout should occur, but I don't think we should increase exposure to the Russell 2000 for two reasons. Ideally the rotation was going to carry through into the upper-right green quadrant indicating confirmed outperformance relative to the S & P 500. I'm not saying we shun small caps all together and continue to focus on the large caps. We need to focus on fundamentally sound small cap companies and we can do so through the Pacer US Small Cap Cash Cows 100 ETF (CALF) .

Criteo operates across three segments – marketing solutions, retail media, and Iponweb – but generated 83% of its $1.95 billion of revenue in 2023 from the marketing solutions segment. To many in the investor community, this was the death knell for cookies leading to uncertainty for Criteo's largest segment. Additionally, the company's retail media segment is a very appealing and growing business using software as a service for e-commerce companies.
