The Tilt, a newsletter for professional content creators, surveyed 1,440 creators during the months of February and March as part of its third annual Content Entrepreneur Benchmark Research study.
The study found that, on average, it took the creators 4.9 months to earn their first dollar, 12.7 months to turn content creation into a full-time business, and 18.4 months to be able to fully support themselves from content creation.
It also took about 18.8 months for creators to be able to hire help for the first time.
