Endeavor, the sports and entertainment company led by the Hollywood super agent Ari Emanuel, said on Tuesday that it planned to go private with the help of Silver Lake, the investment firm that has been its longtime financial backer. Under the terms of the deal, Silver Lake will buy the shares in Endeavor that it doesn’t already own for $27.50 a share in cash. That price is 55 percent above where Endeavor’s shares were trading on Oct. 25, the day before the company said it was weighing deal options. The deal values Endeavor, including its debt, at $13 billion. The long-awaited transaction is meant to usher in a new era for Endeavor, whose ambitious growth story failed to gain traction on Wall Street.

CNN —An awards ceremony curveball indeed: Emma Stone, winner of the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in “Poor Things,” dealt with a sartorial snafu just moments before she took the stage to accept her trophy. “My dress is broken,” Stone appeared to mouth while en route to receive her Academy Award. “I think it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken,’” she explained, referencing Ryan Gosling’s performance of his song from the “Barbie” movie — and, presumably, some dance moves she’d indulged in (because who wouldn’t boogie down with Gosling should the opportunity present itself?). And perhaps most infamously, Jennifer Lawrence, who was on stage with Stone tonight (as one of the former Best Actress winners who introduced this year’s nominees), took a tumble when accepting her Oscar for Best Actress in 2013 due to the hemline on her cascading Dior Haute Couture gown. Lawrence, along with the other former winners, helped usher Stone off-stage.

By a vote of 13 to 2, the team voted to join the service employees union SEIU Local 560 — making them the first college athletes in US history to vote to join a labor union. Then, last month, the NLRB ruled that the Dartmouth players were employees of the school, clearing the way for the unionization vote. The Dartmouth vote also comes as the share of union members in the US reached a record low of just 10% in 2023. Tengler named several attractively valued stocks she called the "picks and shovels" of AI, including Emerson Electric , L3Harris Technologies , Visa , Walmart and McDonald's . These companies are expected to boast continued strong growth and stock performance, aided by AI, she said. "Generative AI is much more compelling of a story than then the internet was in many ways," in terms of fueling productivity and growth, Tengler said. Walmart, another of Tengler's top "old economy" AI plays, has gained 14.4% so far this year, double the broader market. "They've benefited from embracing not just robotics and digitization, but generative AI in their e-commerce business and in improving margins," Tengler said of Walmart.
