The son of the man accused of plotting to assassinate former President Donald Trump at his golf course has been arrested in connection with a child sex abuse images case. Oran Alexander Routh was charged in federal court Monday with one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. A man convicted in the murder and robbery of Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock at a famous Los Angeles eatery was sentenced Monday to 31 years to life in prison. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Connie Quinones read his sentence Monday at the Compton Courthouse. Moore said an "extensive amount" of jewelry was taken from PnB Rock in the deadly robbery. NBC Los Angeles reported that Trone is a South Los Angeles gang member. On Monday, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement that Trone's affirms that justice will prevail for PnB Rock's loved ones.

The Secret Service is heightening security around former President Donald Trump, an agency official said Monday, following the apparent attempt on his life just two months after an assassination attempt at a campaign rally. “Given recent events, the Secret Service is taking a heightened posture in its protection of the former president,” the official said. The new measures appeared to be visible Monday when Trump got off his plane in Pennsylvania and a Secret Service agent followed closely behind. Federal prosecutors recently charged Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, in connection with an apparent assassination attempt on Trump on Sept. 15. Routh was charged a little more than two months after a gunman in Butler, Pennsylvania, shot Trump in the ear during a campaign rally.

An unidentified Gettysburg College student who allegedly carved a racial epithet on the chest of a teammate is no longer enrolled at the Pennsylvania liberal arts college, the school said over the weekend. "We can report now that the individual who scratched a slur onto another person is no longer enrolled at the College," the parties stated. A spokesperson for the college confirmed it, saying the alleged perpetrator and victim were suspended from the swim team pending the outcome of an investigation. On Friday, The Gettysburgian published a statement from the victim's family. The victim’s family said he was the only person of color at the gathering and that the alleged perpetrator was a trusted friend of his.
