She's already gearing up to move back to San Diego once her kid is older and she's more financially stable. She said the food was "infinitely better" in San Diego with much more variety, and San Diego had many more cultural and entertainment opportunities. She hopes to raise her salary to about $200,000, which she feels would be enough to live more comfortably in San Diego.

CNN —For many nations — not least the US — the upcoming Paris Olympics will take place against a background of deep political and social division. If you saw any of the European Athletics Championships events last month, you may well have been struck, as I was, by just how many Black athletes featured on podiums. At the Summer Olympics, the USA team will also feature numerous Black athletes, including gymnast Simone Biles, sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson and the (current) fastest man on earth, Noah Lyles. As you watch the Olympics this summer, take note of the sports in which Black people represent the USA and European countries. So no, Black athletes are not naturally better at some sports — they take the narrower opportunities open to them and work incredibly hard on their self-belief to make it to that podium.

Since an unusual bird flu outbreak was first detected in dairy cows in March, experts have warned that the virus could be infecting more farm workers than have been officially detected. In recent weeks, state and federal officials have been working to unravel part of that mystery: whether silent, undetected infections are occurring in farm workers. Officials in Michigan recently began testing the blood of 35 dairy workers for antibodies to the virus, which would provide evidence of past infection. All worked on dairy farms in Michigan that had suffered outbreaks, and many worked directly with sick cows, the agency said. The farm workers tested were also volunteers, which means that they may not be representative of dairy workers more broadly.

Can Boeing get back to its glory days?

Then on Jan. 5, about six minutes and 16,000 feet into a packed flight out of Portland, Oregon, a door plug blew out of a nearly new Boeing 737 Max 9. The Federal Aviation Administration barred Boeing from increasing output of its Max planes and stepped up hands-on inspections at production plants. The 737 was dubbed "Baby Boeing" and went on to become the company's bestseller, helping to make Boeing the largest U.S. exporter. Pilots in those Boeing planes fought against a flight-control system, the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, that pushed the nose of the planes downward repeatedly. Boeing has said it aims to increase rates to about 50 Max planes a month in the next few years.

Investors could be "significantly" undervaluing CAE stock, a Canadian aerospace training and simulation company, according to Goldman Sachs. In a recent report, the Wall Street investment bank reiterated a buy rating on CAE, which operates two primary businesses: civil aviation and defense. In the report, Poponak analyzed both CAE's civil aviation and defense businesses in isolation and compared to competitors. The civil aviation segment's growth and margin profile isn't accurately reflected in CAE's current valuation multiple, the analyst added. CAE's valuation seems to reflect that investors have assigned the defense business little to no value, Poponak wrote.

CNN —Scientists have long theorized the existence of lunar caves — underground passageways formed through volcanic processes that are connected to the pits covering the moon’s surface. Now, a team of international researchers has found the first direct evidence that the moon’s deepest known pit connects to a cave that could provide shelter to astronauts. “Lunar caves have remained a mystery for a long time. Future research and exploration of lunar caves could also provide new insight into the evolution of the moon and lunar volcanism, the authors note in the study. “Moreover, (lunar caves) can be an alternative or an integration to a base on the surface of the Moon,” he added.
