IT Services" on Sept. 28, Citi analysts said banks are poised to outperform the information technology services sector over the next 12 months. "We thus believe Indian banks will not be directly impacted by an uncertain global growth or global higher-for-longer policy rate cycles." The bank's analysts expect private sector banks to continue gaining market share from public sector banks. However, Citi noted increasing competitive pressures from smaller firms vying for deals in the IT services sector. The Citi analysts also said that banks are trading close to historical averages on a price-to-book basis.

What began as tentative support for legislative reforms and congressional power to decriminalize abortion has swelled into the so-called green wave, a political movement for abortion rights. In 2022, Colombia’s Constitutional Court issued a sweeping judgment that decriminalized abortion until 24 weeks of pregnancy. This is because criminalization denies more than access to a single health care service; it carries broader social harms. In Brazil, abortion criminalization betrays the constitutional promise of universal care. In Brazil, Black and brown women, poor and young women and women from the most vulnerable regions of the country are more likely to have abortions, to be arrested for having them and to die from them.

And opera needs works like “10 Days,” which treats the medium with affection and respect while also chafing at its tropes throughout history. For this is an opera that jerks between beauty and terror — seamlessly under the baton of Daniela Candillari, leading an ensemble of about a dozen instrumentalists. The patients (members of Opera Philadelphia Chorus, led by Elizabeth Braden) can sing the same hymn with serenity in one scene and chaotic dissonance in the next, with few indications of which is the truer rendition. The most tragic of the patients is Lizzie (the mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis, who sings with a lush and moving elegance that would make her ideal for mid-20th century American opera). Her repetitive ramblings come into logical focus with a long, crushing aria about the death of her daughter.

OpenAI is introducing a new feature that gives the chatbot a voice to respond to you with audio. "Voice chat was created with voice actors we have directly worked with. The bid to make chatbots more human-like comes as companies seek to transform generative AI technology into useful tools that act as personal assistants for users. ChatGPT will also have a new feature that allows it to "see," with users able to show ChatGPT what they're talking about by showing them images. "Voice and image give you more ways to use ChatGPT in your life," OpenAI said.

A German startup hoping to help put an end to plastic pollution has just raised 36.6 million euro (around $38.9 million) in a mixture of equity and debt. Hamburg-based Traceless, founded in 2020, has developed a plant-based biomaterial using agricultural waste to replace plastics. The startup material uses the existing natural polymers that are in its raw material, which requires up to 80% less energy to process compared to conventional plastics, Lamp said. Traceless produces its material as small pellets to provide to product manufacturers, which then mould it to their needs. The startup hopes to have replaced 1 million tonnes of plastic by 2030.

“The idea of the hysterical woman trope really does persist today,” the soprano said ahead of Thursday night’s premiere of Rene Orth’s musical adaptation at Opera Philadelphia. An all-woman creative team was commissioned to develop the work by Opera Philadelphia and Toronto’s Tapestry Opera. “I have a lot to say about women’s rights being taken away and how women are treated,” director Joanna Settle explained. Bryce-Davis views Roosevelt Island quite differently following her immersion in the traumatic story. “My sister lives on Roosevelt Island and so whenever I’m in New York, that’s where I am,” she said.

Apple is marketing a security feature after the WSJ revealed it can be used by iPhone thieves. Thieves have reportedly taken up to $10,000 through iPhones by using the Apple ID reset feature. Earlier this week, Apple made a post on X, previously known as Twitter, that included a short video on how Apple users can change the passwords to their Apple ID accounts. "I absolutely cannot believe Apple is marketing this as a feature," Stern wrote on X. "Of course, I tried it like minute three, I tried it," Ayas told Insider in reference to the "Find my iPhone" feature.

Chick-fil-A pulled out of the UK in 2019 after it faced backlash from LGBTQ+ activists. The chain no longer makes those donations and now plans to return to the UK with five stores. It's been four years since the chain retreated from the country after facing backlash for its history of donating to anti-LGBTQ+ organizations. But the chain's reputation for making significant donations to right-wing groups with a history of anti-LGBTQ+ work prompted waves of protests. "From our earliest days, we've worked to positively influence the places we call home, and this will be the same for our stores in the UK," Symonds said in a statement.

London CNN —Chick-fil-A is making another foray into the United Kingdom after gay rights campaigners forced the fast-food chain to close a pop-up site in the country in 2019. Each restaurant will be owned and operated as a franchise, Chick-fil-A said, and each is expected to create between 80 and 120 jobs. Chick-fil-A opened a temporary store in Reading, a town west of London, in 2019, triggering protests by local LGBTQ+ rights activists. For years, the restaurant chain has faced criticism from LGBTQ+ rights activists for its past donations to Christian organizations, including the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which have expressed opposition to gay rights, including same sex marriage. However, in 2019 the restaurant chain changed the focus of its charitable foundation.

While a civil suit lodged against KLM (AIRF.PA) in the Netherlands is one of the most prominent, complaints and cases against other airlines have been mounting. Lockwood said the ASA would use machine learning tools to scan online advertising to catch potentially misleading wording. Separately, the Austrian advertising watchdog told Lufthansa's Austrian Airlines arm last year to stop making claims about a carbon neutral flight using biofuel. The lawsuit alleges that carbon offset programmes don't work as advertised and the company misled consumers. The company is investing in newer planes and sustainable fuel to "decarbonise" its operations, the person added.
