India's biggest budget airline IndiGo has been trialing a booking feature that will allow women to avoid booking a seat next to men on flights. The feature, the first of its kind for an airline, works by showing female travelers a pink seat at the seat selection page if it will be occupied by a female passenger, a company representative told CNBC Travel. Travelers on IndiGo must identify their genders when they purchase tickets, which allows the airline to control access to these details, according to Indigo. However, IndiGo's website and mobile app did not show the feature when CNBC did a check. The new feature has received "positive individual reactions" on social media, IndiGo's CEO told CNBC's "Street Signs Asia" last week.

Michael Bloomberg’s organization Bloomberg Philanthropies is announcing a $600 million gift to the endowments of four historically Black medical schools. Xavier University of Louisiana, which is opening a new medical school, will also receive a $5 million grant. The donations will more than double the size of three of the medical schools’ endowments, Bloomberg Philanthropies said. A government spokesperson confirmed to CNBC that two major taxpayer-funded spending commitments, worth £500 million and £800 million, respectively, were being dropped in order to prioritize other fiscal plans. Earlier this week, British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves announced a raft of spending cuts after revealing Labour had inherited a projected £22 billion ($28 billion) of unfunded pledges from the center-right Conservatives. The Labour government was widely expected to announce the introduction of the first-ever U.K. AI Bill in a speech delivered by King Charles III last month. A DSIT spokesperson instead told CNBC the government would consult on plans to regulate AI in due course.

The ADAPT OIT Program is open to infants under 12 months who have been diagnosed with a peanut allergy and who are under an allergy specialist at one of the ten pediatric hospitals across five states which are participating. “Australia is the allergy capital of the world and we have 5 million people with allergic disease and peanut allergy affects around 3 per cent of 12-month-old children in Australia. Adam Fox is a London-based professor of paediatric allergy and chair of the National Allergy Strategy Group in the UK. He has spent many years seeing patients with peanut allergy and regularly posts on social media about it.
