LONDON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Holders Manchester United will host Newcastle United in the fourth round of the League Cup after Wednesday's draw threw up a repeat of last season's final. Newcastle had earlier booked their place in the last 16 after beating Premier League champions Manchester City 1-0 at St James' Park. Nine times winners Liverpool, 3-1 winners at home to Leicester City on Wednesday, were handed a trip to Premier League Bournemouth while Arsenal will travel to West Ham United in a London derby and Everton host Burnley. Chelsea will have a home game against second tier Blackburn Rovers while Fulham are away to Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town. League Two Mansfield Town host League One side Port Vale while League One Exeter City are at home to Championship side Middlesbrough.

While Erik Ten Hag's side set aside a difficult start to the season and cruised comfortably through at Old Trafford, Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers and Luton Town were knocked out by lower-division opponents. Wolves went 2-0 up and then lost 3-2 at Championship (second tier) high-flyers Ipswich Town while Premier League newcomers Luton were beaten 1-0 at League One (third tier) side Exeter City. Vincent Kompany's Burnley, without a win in the Premier League so far this season, overran League Two (fourth tier) opponents Salford City 4-0 with a second-string team. The match was the night's only fixture pitting two top flight clubs against each other and they will meet again in the league at Old Trafford on Saturday. The draw for the fourth round will be after Wednesday's matches, with 12 Premier League clubs in action and last year's losing finalists Newcastle United hosting Premier League champions Manchester City.

This, regulators say, makes it harder for banks to cut costs and absorb losses in a downturn. But many bankers are expected to resist swapping guaranteed pay for potentially higher bonuses, which can swing wildly across economic cycles. Wheels Up avoided a possible bankruptcy when it secured backing from investors on Tuesday, including U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines (DAL.N). Two operators have closed down since May in the face of diminished traffic and higher labor costs could force some private-jet operators out of business. While private flying remains above 2019 levels, traffic has slowed since the pandemic, when wealthy passengers sought to avoid crowded commercial airports. The company, which provided third-party flying service to Wheels Up, faces a lawsuit from Wheels Up over a contract dispute. The 2024 Republican presidential race played out in close quarters as Trump and DeSantis joined the crowd of thousands. Trump had traveled to Iowa with an entourage largely designed to troll DeSantis. “Iowa pork is delicious & provides nearly 1 in 10 working Iowans a job, but Ron DeSantis would be an utter catastrophe for Iowa,” the flyer said. The former president made his way to the famous “pork chop on a stick” stand while onlookers chanted “USA.”Unlike DeSantis, Trump did not grill pork chops himself.

On the last day of June, American Airlines agents at Gainesville Regional Airport in Florida canceled a North Carolina teenager’s flight after realizing that he had used a booking tactic called “skiplagging” or “hidden-city travel,” forbidden by airlines but used by some travelers to net flight bargains. He was forced to pay for a direct flight. Skiplagging is buying a ticket for a connecting flight, with a layover in the city that’s the real destination for the traveler. Often the fare is cheaper than if they’d actually bought a direct flight to their desired destination. Mr. Parsons said that American banned his son from traveling with the carrier for three years.
