One person is dead and "several" were injured after a homecoming weekend shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama early Sunday morning. In a statement, the university said "a non-university individual" was killed and several others, including students, were injured in the shooting. The injured victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Tuskegee University did not share any details about the shooting, adding that the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident. It is not clear if there are any suspects in custody in connection with the shooting at this time.

LinkedIn has seen a 29% increase this year in users who list their preferred pronouns. AdvertisementDetractors might consider it woke, but more professionals are including their preferred pronouns on their LinkedIn profiles. LinkedIn added space for users to include their preferred pronouns in their profiles in March 2021. Cooper, who said she doesn't indicate preferred pronouns, said that for some people sharing their pronouns can signal support for marginalized groups. She said that, ultimately, while some people find comfort in sharing their preferred pronouns, what that says about a person might be limited.

CNN —Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has made clear she has no plans to step down, according to people close to her, despite calls from some on the left that President Joe Biden should try to name a successor before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. “She’s in great health, and the court needs her now more than ever,” said one person close to the justice. Some progressives have suggested Sotomayor, the most senior liberal on the conservative Supreme Court, should step down so that Biden could try to name a replacement in the short window before Trump takes office in January. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said Sunday that he doesn’t think Sotomayor should step down from the court. In May, Sotomayor told an audience at Harvard University that she sometimes cries after the court hands down its decisions.

CNN —One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama early Sunday morning, according to the university. The person who died, who has not been named, was not a student at the university, Tuskegee University said in a news release. “Several others including Tuskegee University students were injured and are receiving treatment at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery,” according to the university. “The university is in the process of completing student accountability and notifying parents,” Tuskegee University said. A shooting at Albany State University after homecoming game on October 19 left one dead and injured multiple others.
