Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady appeared in commercials endorsing crypto exchange FTX, which collapsed suddenly in November. And Kim Kardashian gushed about EMAX tokens on Instagram. Now they and other celebrities are facing civil lawsuits from investors who suffered losses on virtual assets, as well as scrutiny by regulators for allegedly duping the investing public. The legal actions, which have prompted some agents to caution their clients against financial endorsements, could clarify the ground rules for crypto promotions, as well as the hurdles investors must clear to hold promoters liable when investments go south.

Jan 23 (Reuters) - Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is receiving treatment for a high ankle sprain, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid said on Monday, with the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals waiting for them in the AFC Championship. Mahomes fell awkwardly after being tackled late in the first quarter of the Chiefs' 27-20 divisional round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday. A week later he completed 29 of 38 attempts to beat the Buffalo Bills 38-24 in the AFC Championship, helping the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. "I'm just going to see how he's doing when we get to that Wednesday practice," he told reporters. The Chiefs face a significant hurdle to reach their third Super Bowl in four years, with the Bengals coming out on top in their last three meetings.
On Friday he seemed to end speculation over Maher's future - for now, at least - telling reporters, "Brett has the ball." "The goal is to get back into whatever routine he's had in the past that has made him so successful," said Beilock. So they're really in the zone, if you will," said Perea. "The sad thing about all this, is that when you have an outing like that, people will doubt you," said Perea. Tom Brady’s long-stated goal was to play quarterback in the NFL until he was 45, and when he achieved that this year there wasn’t any obvious reason to believe he couldn’t keep going if he wanted to. Last season, Brady was the NFL’s most prolific passer and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were one of the best teams in the league. Two seasons ago, he made them Super Bowl champions.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Carolina Panthers, 21-3, on Oct. 23. The most pivotal clash during the penultimate week of this NFL season isn’t the high-profile showdown between Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, two Super Bowl favorites. It’s actually between two teams with a losing record. One of them is the Carolina Panthers, who are 6-9, fired their head coach, traded away their star running back and cut their starting quarterback. They should be spending the weekend scouting talent at the College Football Playoff.
Cardinals defensive end Watt calls time on career

Dec 27 (Reuters) - Three-times Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt announced his retirement from the National Football League (NFL) on Tuesday, saying on social media that he had played his last home game. All but assured a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Watt is widely considered among the greatest-ever defensive players and was set to become a free agent after his contract with the Arizona Cardinals expired in 2023. But Watt, who previously played for the Houston Texans, said Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be his last game on home turf. "My last ever NFL home game," said Watt, 33, who added that it was the first game his infant son Koa had attended. The defensive end, who was selected to the Pro Bowl five times, has two games left with the Cardinals, on the road against the Atlanta Falcons and the San Francisco 49ers, amid a disappointing 4-11 season.

Tagovailoa threw a career-high three interceptions in a game, completing 16 of 25 passes for 310 yards and an 84-yard touchdown to Jaylen Waddle. Trace McSorley completed 24 of 45 passes for 217 yards and an interception in his first career start.
Admit it: You thought Tom Brady was going to get away with it. After shocking the football world with a retirement announcement, the seven-time Super Bowl champion was showered with countless hosannas and odes to the GOAT. He’d come right back and win another Super Bowl, basking in ever-more glorious pronouncements. The whole point of Tom Brady returning to football is to win another Super Bowl, to go for his unprecedented eighth championship ring. Not even Tom Brady.

Tom Brady’s season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been odd, dramatic and full of surprise twists. More than anything, though, it has also been a downbeat slog as Brady slides toward something he has never done before: stumbling into the playoffs by happenstance, not skill. Brady has already lost more games in 2022 than he has in a single season in his entire career—and there are still three weeks left. He’s also, somehow, still in line to play postseason football.
