Gen Z can catch flak for being difficult in the workplace. But a Gen X boss at Duolingo recently broke down the good aspects of working with Gen Z on an episode of podcast "The Return." There's a growing consensus that Gen Z is bringing about a workplace reckoning. AdvertisementIt's not uncommon to hear managers complain that Gen Z workers are lazy, lack soft skills , or need constant supervision. Having a good sense of work-life balance, which Gen Z typically values, improves overall workplace culture, he said.

REUTERS/Aly Song/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsHONG KONG, Nov 16 (Reuters) - A court auction to sell vast commercial land plots owned by defaulted Shimao Group (0813.HK) in Shenzhen failed for a second time on Thursday as there were no bidders, highlighting weak demand in China's property market. Twelve land plots totalling 243,602 square metres, together with some uncompleted buildings on them, have asked for 10.4 billion yuan ($1.4 billion), 20% lower than the 13 billion yuan starting price in the first auction in July, according to e-commerce company JD.com's (9618.HK) online auction platform. The Shenzhen plots were part of the land parcel bought by Shanghai-based Shimao in 2017, which planned to build a new landmark complex in China's tech hub with the city's tallest skyscraper. Media reports said the land plots, valued at 16.3 billion yuan, were the most valuable assets being auctioned by Chinese courts in seven years.

Biden may want Xi to help bring down the temperature on the world’s ongoing wars and help prevent new ones from igniting. Although China occasionally tries to keep a façade of neutrality, there’s little question that it is aligned with Russia. White House officials have said Biden will provide “clarity” to Xi, on the US positions regarding Taiwan and Russia’s war against Ukraine. Still, there’s a limit to how much Xi can downplay the need for growth. Even so, Biden and Xi are likely to make some progress in an important and necessary meeting.

CHIURI, Nepal, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Sobbing relatives of victims from Nepal's worst earthquake in eight years cremated their loved ones on Sunday as rescuers looked for people who could still be trapped in the rubble of collapsed buildings. The quake had a magnitude 6.4, Nepal's National Seismological Centre said, while the U.S. Geological Survey measured it at 5.6. Since Friday's quake, thousands of buildings in Jajarkot and neighbouring Rukum West district have collapsed or developed cracks making them uninhabitable. "I am shocked to lose almost all my family members," said the 41-year-old, who farms millet and corn.
