WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert late Tuesday night clarified that she’s vehemently opposed to “hate or racism” after her response to a question about social media abuse drew criticism from players in her league. Longtime Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., was taken at the hospital Tuesday night and is receiving treatment after collapsing at an event in Washington, according to a congressional aide with knowledge of the situation. Later Tuesday night, Wilson's office confirmed the news in a post on X. "Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) was taken ill and is being evaluated at a local hospital in Washington, DC," his office said. Wilson, 77, was present for two vote series in the House on Tuesday afternoon and was joking with reporters just off the floor. Wilson has represented South Carolina in the House of Representatives since 2001.
