Some people part of the Great Resignation may be "quick quitting" and leaving jobs that they've been at for less than a year. Recession fears may impact those thinking about quick quitting. But there's a new twist: "quick quitting," which LinkedIn defines as leaving a position that they had for less than a year, according to its data. But for now, LinkedIn's analysis of short tenure rates using its own data show white-collar workers are among the workers quick quitting. Salemi said she's "cautious" though about people quickly quitting though because "it shouldn't necessarily be spontaneous."

And some of those relatively low stress jobs also pay handsomely. The least stressful job on the list that pays more than $100,000 per year is environmental economist, with a ranking of 52 out of 100. In terms of why the job might be comparatively lower stress, "They're not working in very competitive conditions," says Sinem Buber, lead economist at ZipRecruiter. New York City's Wage Transparency Law goes into effect on Nov. 1, making it mandatory for employers to share the salary or hourly wage in postings. "We expect the recent wave of pay transparency legislation to continue," said Mariann Madden, director of work and rewards at benefits consulting firm WTW, formerly known as Willis Towers Watson. "Job seekers and current employees want to know and understand that they are treated fairly and are provided with equal opportunities to thrive and grow within the organization," Madden said. The idea is that pay transparency will bring about pay equity, or essentially equal pay for work of equal or comparable value, regardless of worker gender, race or other demographic category. "Employers may realize this transparency is important to job seekers and start including it anyway without a mandate," she said.
Reading through the job description, you might notice job tasks like building media lists, writing press releases and drafting blogs. If these are relevant to your work experience, make sure to include them in the bullets of your job descriptions. Your potential employer is letting you know specifically what kind of industry experience they're looking for. If you have that experience, it's critical to highlight it in their language so they know you're the right candidate for the role. Impactful verbs like 'accomplished, improved'Your resume should be a powerful reflection of your accomplishments.
Workers are pushing for greater pay transparency, whether employers like it or not. Such conversations around income expectations used to be "the elephant in the room," said Vicki Salemi, career expert at Monster.com. Now, 33% of job seekers said they would not even go to a job interview without first knowing the salary the employer is willing to offer, according to new research by job search site Adzuna. Congress considers retirement system changesAs salary transparency laws slowly gain momentum, 28% of adults said a lack of pay clarity continues to be the greatest frustration when it comes to the job search, Adzuna found. The idea is that pay transparency will bring about pay equity, or essentially equal pay for work of equal or comparable value, regardless of worker gender, race or other demographic category.
While many factors can contribute to this phenomenon, such as overwork or tension between co-workers, managers can play a part in helping to make their reports' work lives a little bit less stressful. Here's how work experts recommend managers help their reports avoid burnout. Your team needs to hear 'that you're a human being'"It starts with psychological safety," says Gavin. "Your team members need to feel like you are willing to prioritize them," says Gavin. Without that level of openness, you won't be able to help them solve whatever problems could lead to their burnout.
Johnson has since said that he knew nothing of a fake elector scheme, which is now part of a sprawling federal investigation. The Wisconsin lawsuit alleges that Troupis was a link between the Trump campaign and the fake electors, and allegedly relayed the strategy behind the scheme to Trump allies in Wisconsin. “He’s changed his story a couple of times on handing off fake electors to the vice president or trying to,” Franken said in an interview with NBC News. After Pence’s staff told Johnson’s aide not to give them the slate of electors Jan. 6, Johnson said he informed Troupis. At a recent event at the Milwaukee Rotary Club, Johnson was asked about his actions around Jan. 6.
Adjectives like 'really' or 'very'Adjectives like "really" and "very" are pretty empty, says Ng, and don't add much meaning to your bullet points. Vague titles like 'intern'Similarly, vague titles like "intern" or "manager" don't give a sense of what you were actually doing in the role. "Give us some more specifics around whether you're an operations intern, a social media intern, a design intern, etc.," says Ng. To begin with, you can't assume the recruiter or HR person reading your resume will know what the acronym or abbreviation means. While you may not ultimately be a fit for the role you're applying to, you could be a fit for another one down the line.
A view shows the city of Glen Ullin, U.S., in this undated photo. Sept 29 (Reuters) - Glen Ullin, North Dakota, was first in line for money to replace its leaky water pipes before Washington cut funding by one-third this spring. The reason: Congress is yet again diverting money to pet projects known as "earmarks. That wasn't an option in North Dakota, whose congressional delegation did not submit any earmark requests this year or last. Glen Ullin probably won't qualify for infrastructure dollars because those are distributed using different criteria, officials say.
Ron DeSantis defended his decision to fly dozens of migrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard. Over the weekend, he suggested that those migrants "hit the jackpot" by landing in Massachusetts. "Florida is not on the US-Mexico border, so the migrants were transported to Martha's Vineyard from Texas on Floridians' dime." It's carefully-chosen language on DeSantis' part but doesn't represent the reality for most migrants, according to immigration experts. The migrants who landed in Martha's Vineyard last week were given misleading brochures promising cash assistance and job placement services before touching down on the island, according to lawyers for the migrants.
Warren Buffett turns 92 on Tuesday, having spent the past year expanding further his Berkshire Hathaway energy empire, making a classic value investor's bet. Plus, many energy stocks have found themselves with torrents of cash flow since the economy reopened following Covid lockdowns. "All of this just sounds like the perfect Berkshire Hathaway stock." If Berkshire continues to ramp up its Occidental investments and makes the position a controlling one, it probably reflects the influence of Greg Abel, Buffett's likely successor who has been leading the conglomerate's energy unit Berkshire Hathaway Energy. Berkshire acquired MidAmerican Energy in 1999, and Abel became CEO of MidAmerican Energy in 2008, six years before it was renamed Berkshire Hathaway Energy in 2014.
Jobs in the sneaker industry are highly coveted, but it's possible to get a foot in the door. In 2010, shortly before he left Nike, Edwards founded what's become Pensole Lewis College. More than 500 Pensole alums work in the industry, including at Nike and its Jordan brand. "It's extremely competitive," said Bimma Williams, a veteran of Nike, Adidas, and Saucony. In 2011, Sean Williams (no relation to Bimma) and Dee Wells of Obsessive Sneaker Disorder launched SOLEcial Studies, an educational program about the sneaker industry for high-school and college students.
