The dollar index is up 1.57% this week, putting it on course to snap a streak of three losing weeks.

Dec 15 (Reuters) - Twitter on Thursday suspended the accounts of several prominent journalists who recently wrote about its new owner Elon Musk, with the billionaire tweeting that rules banning the publishing of personal information applied to all, including journalists. On Wednesday, Twitter suspended @elonjet, an account tracking Musk's private jet in real time using data available in the public domain. Twitter on Thursday showed "account suspended" notices for a clutch of journalists' accounts. A spokesperson for The New York Times said: "Tonight's suspension of the Twitter accounts of a number of prominent journalists, including The New York Times's Ryan Mac, is questionable and unfortunate. We hope that all of the journalists' accounts are reinstated and that Twitter provides a satisfying explanation for this action."

CNN —University of Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams was named the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Saturday night. Williams beat out Texas Christian University Horned Frogs quarterback Max Duggan, Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. The Heisman award caps off a season in which USC ended up just short of the College Football Playoff. Williams is the seventh Trojan to win the award and the first since quarterback Matt Leinart in 2004. Williams suffered a hamstring injury in the Trojans’ loss to the University of Utah in the Pac-12 championship game last week.

JPMorgan Chase's Samik Chatterjee said the results underscore Apple's resilience and should further entice investors to buy the stock. "Amid a sea of large-cap earnings debacles, Apple's results appear to be a relative victory," wrote Bernstein's Toni Sacconaghi.
