Less than a fifth of large companies in the United States include coverage for the popular but pricey weight loss drugs Wegovy and Zepbound in their health insurance plans, according to a survey published Wednesday in Health Affairs. “They’re trying to figure out what is the right balance between the advantages to employees, potential health benefits and the cost of these drugs. The survey found that about half of employers that cover the weight loss drugs have certain requirements associated with their coverage, which Rae said would limit access for some employees but save money. Among large firms that don’t currently cover GLP-1 drugs for weight loss, only about 3% said they’re “very likely” to do so in the next year. Despite the exorbitant cost, employers do have a positive view of the drugs.

The solana cryptocurrency could outperform ether and bitcoin in a big way if former President Donald Trump wins the U.S. election, according to Standard Chartered. In a new research note, the bank's head of digital assets, Geoffrey Kendrick, outlined his expectations for bitcoin, ether and solana depending on whether Trump or his Democratic opponent Vice President Kamala Harris wins the presidential election. "Similar arguments can be made for the relative outlook for ETH versus BTC under a Trump versus Harris outcome in the US," Kendrick added. If Harris takes the White House, however, Kendrick said he expects bitcoin to outperform ether, and ether to outperform solana in 2025. Solana valuation Despite his bullish call on solana under a Trump presidency, Kendrick noted that its current valuation looks "richly priced" versus ether on all backward-looking measures.

Brazil’s Supreme Court cleared X to resume service in the country Tuesday, after the social media platform reversed course and started complying with court rulings that billionaire owner Elon Musk had previously vowed to resist. Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who had been locked in a months-long feud with Musk, gave X the green light to resume operations in Latin America’s largest country effective immediately. In the decision, Moraes said X had met all the necessary requirements to start operating again in the country. Moraes, in his Tuesday decision, ruled that Brazil’s telecommunications regulator Anatel must work to allow X to come back online within 24 hours. A new X representative, lawyer Rachel de Oliveira Conceicao, was tapped in late September, when X also said it had started to block accounts ordered by the court.

This is false, but Trump, while president, did repurpose FEMA funds to help finance his hardline immigration policies. But in retrospect, the charade featuring his first White House press secretary Sean Spicer was a harbinger of an administration that bucked fact as an instrument of political power. Trump voters respond to his populism and his evisceration of elites and many sincerely believe he’s a response to a march to the left by the Democratic Party. Elon Musk’s pro-Trump America PAC is offering people $47 if they successfully get one registered swing-state voter to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments of the Constitution. Both Musk and America PAC have vocally encouraged swing-state voter registration ahead of the mandatory deadlines. Over the weekend, X repurposed the account handle “@america,” which used to belong to a different account, for Musk’s America PAC. The account has since promoted the pro-Constitution petition, swing-state voter registration and the $47 offer.
