CNN —Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, the night before he was scheduled to face Canadian Milos Raonic in the first round, he announced on social media Wednesday. The pooled results show that about a quarter of menthol smokers quit within a year or two when the substance is banned from cigarettes. Menthol cigarette smoking rates were lower in settings with national bans and highest when there were only local or statewide bans. Even if just a quarter of menthol smokers quit, it could improve the health of thousands of people. Oatly and Carvel said on Monday that they will partner to add oat milk-based items at the chain's ice cream stores nationwide. Carvel, a chain known for its soft serve, will add five new plant-based desserts to its menu as part of the partnership. The Oatly products will include strawberry soft serve and scooped cookies and cream and chocolate peanut butter flavors, along with cakes. Oatly said the partnership will help the ice cream shop chain serve people with dairy allergies or dietary restrictions. More consumers have embraced plant-based milk in recent years, and oat milk has started to make up a larger share of that segment.
