CNN —The propulsion module that powered India’s spacecraft to a historic moon landing just transitioned back into Earth’s orbit, according to the country’s space agency. The propulsion module had more fuel left over than the Indian Space Research Organization, or ISRO, had expected. The initial plan was to operate the SHAPE experiment for about three months, while the propulsion module continued whirring through lunar orbit. But because the rocket that launched the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft delivered it to such a precise orbit, the propulsion module was left with more propellant than expected. (The trial did not, however, attempt to get back into lunar orbit or reconnect with the propulsion module.

The main reason for the slow adoption is that it’s still more expensive – between 1.5 to 6 times pricier than regular jet fuel. Boeing is not out of the race either, but doesn’t see a hydrogen long-haul plane as around the corner. On medium- and long-haul flights, we don’t see it as a direct source of propulsion until 2040. We would need to see magnitude-order changes [in batteries] for us to consider those for long-haul flights.

The tech demo was designed to be the US space agency’s most distant experiment of high-bandwidth laser communications, testing the sending and receiving of data to and from Earth using an invisible near-infrared laser. NASA/JPL-CaltechIt’s not the first time laser communications have been tested in space. The first test of two-way laser communication occurred in December 2021 when NASA’s Laser Communications Relay Demonstration launched and went into orbit about 22,000 miles (35,406 kilometers) from Earth. Nov 20 (Reuters) - Rivian Automotive (RIVN.O) said on Monday that CEO RJ Scaringe would directly oversee all product development effective immediately as the electric-vehicle maker gears up to unveil and launch its smaller and cheaper vehicle family. Chief Product Development Officer Nick Kalayjian would move to the role of executive vice president, vehicle engineering and propulsion before transitioning to an advisory role, the company said. "It's a big year for product for Rivian, so RJ is doubling down on the introduction of our new technologies in 2024 and the design and development of R2," a spokesperson for Rivian told Reuters. The company's product reporting structure will include software, autonomy, design, vehicle, electrical, propulsion and programs categories, Rivian said. Everything went to plan until day 10 – November 2 – when the ship was en route to Gran Canaria, as storms approached. It was last tracked off the coast of southern England, having departed Portsmouth for Lisbon, according to tracking website Vesselfinder. After all, though Ford's electric truck might have a massive frunk, its motor is far quieter than its gasoline-powered counterparts. GM said it was disappointed by the UAW strike at Spring Hill and that it still seeks "to reach an agreement as quickly as possible." Spring Hill Manufacturing, an assembly and propulsion plant, is the largest GM facility in North America with nearly 4,000 total employees. A lengthy Spring Hill strike could greatly increase the financial pain for GM, which said in a filing earlier this week that strike costs had risen to $400 million a week. CNN —The 1985 Domino’s Pizza delivery car looks more like it was designed to shoot down invading alien spacecraft than to bring you a hot delicious pepperoni pie. But back in the ’80s, Domino’s founder Tom Monaghan ordered 10 Tritan A2 cars and customized them with warming ovens in the back to deliver pizzas around Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Domino’s is headquartered.
