German grocer Lidl opened its first US stores in 2017. It closed 11 underperforming stores this week, according to various news reports. Lidl, whose US headquarters are in Virginia, closed 11 stores recently in North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, South Carolina, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, the Daily Mail first reported. Lidl has roughly 170 stores in the US and over 12,000 stores worldwide. According to Grocery Business, here are the locations of the 11 recently closed Lidl locations.

☆ Amazon lays off some employees in its Pharmacy unit

Amazon has let go of some of the employees in its Pharmacy business, the company confirmed to CNBC. A "small number" of staffers in the Amazon Pharmacy division were informed Thursday they were being laid off, Amazon spokesperson Brad Glasser said in a statement. "As a result, we have made the decision to adjust resources and a small number of roles have been eliminated on the Amazon Pharmacy Services team." The company laid off 18,000 employees over several months last fall and earlier this year, then announced an additional 9,000 employees would be let go in March. Some employees in the company's pharmacy, digital health tools and Halo fitness band units were laid off, CNBC previously reported.

Savile Row tailors have dressed kings, queens and their offspring for more than 150 years, and their craft gets a particular boost from long-time customer Charles - a lover of the countryside who also champions the farmers, weavers and mills producing much of the fabric. 'SLOWEST FASHION'Henry Poole, credited with creating the dinner jacket, or tuxedo, has held a British royal warrant since the 1860s when it supplied Queen Victoria. "The sustainability side of that is a major part of what Savile Row has always had," he said.

Amazon is scheduled to report first-quarter earnings after market close Thursday. Last quarter, Amazon Web Services missed estimates, growing 20% in the period, down from 27.5% in the third quarter. They said AWS growth is likely to come in at 13% in the first quarter. Amazon is also contending with decelerating growth in its core retail segment.
