It was back in April 2022 when I booked a room on one of the largest cruise ships in the world, Royal Caribbean's 18-deck Wonder of the Seas. Higher decks in the middle of the ship feel calmer and more stable, they said. Some cruise ship cabins can be rockier than others, like those situated at the front of the shipThe author's room was at the front of the ship. Joey Hadden/Business InsiderCruise passengers prone to motion sickness should book a room in the middle of the ship to feel the least amount of rocking. I wish I'd researched how the location of a cabin can affect the amount of motion you feel while the ship is moving before booking my cruise.

That’s the fine line Garland has to walk. And, unfortunately, a man whom Garland tried his best to ignore until it was too late. In short, for Donald Trump there was, and always is, a separate rule. Boeing should be kicked out of the Dow
  + stars: | 2024-09-11 | by ( Chris Isidore | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +6 min
The United States is no longer primarily an industrial economy, and the changes in the index over the last 126 years reflect that evolution. Beyond that, there are two other major issues indicating that Boeing no longer belongs in the Dow. Trying to stay relevantBoeing obviously wasn’t an early component of the Dow — the index started seven years before the first plane flew at Kitty Hawk, and 20 years before Boeing was incorporated. In 2020, the Dow dropped ExxonMobil, then struggling with low oil prices during the pandemic, and added tech company Salesforce, then on a tear. Boeing declined to comment when asked about its membership in the Dow.

CLEVELAND — Deshaun Watson has been accused of sexual assault in a new civil lawsuit brought by a woman who alleges the Cleveland Browns quarterback forced himself on her four years ago when he played with Houston. According to the lawsuit filed Monday in Harris County, the woman is suing Watson for $1 million in damages. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe in the court documents, said the incident took place after she invited Watson to her apartment. The 28-year-old Watson served an 11-game NFL suspension in 2022 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, stemming from those accusations. Watson has been limited to just 13 starts due to the suspension and a shoulder injury that required surgery last season.

The European Union flag is seen with Google's logo. Europe's top court on Tuesday upheld a 2.4 billion euro ($2.65 billion) fine imposed on Google for abusing its dominant position by favoring its own shopping comparison service. The fine stems from an antitrust investigation by the European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, which concluded in 2017. Google appealed the decision with the General Court, the EU's second-highest court, which also upheld the fine. Google then brought the case before the European Court of Justice (ECJ), the EU's top court.

In a decision on August 27, the US Third Circuit Court of Appeals found that, in 2021, TikTok — via its "For You Page" algorithm — recommended a video promoting a "blackout challenge" to 10-year-old Nylah Anderson. The company had argued in court that it was immune from prosecution due to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. AdvertisementBut the Third Circuit ruling could change that. French and other supporters of the Third Circuit ruling argue that TikTok's liability protections should end where its algorithmic suggestions begin. Now a father, Jones continued to work steadily through the 1980s. (He won a second Emmy that night for his supporting turn in the TV movie “Heat Wave,” about the 1965 Watts race riots.) Over the ensuing three decades, Jones continued to work continuously — even after he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 1995. That he never won an Oscar for a specific movie role, denying him the coveted EGOT, is a lingering symbol of just how much he was underappreciated over a prolific and profound career. Dow gets a 500-point boost

The Dow rose 484 points, or 1.2%, on Monday. At one point earlier in the afternoon, the Dow was up more than 600 points. This week, investors will get another look at US inflation data, starting Wednesday morning with the Consumer Price Index report. The Fed has kept interest rates high to bring price hikes under control. Because consumer spending makes up the vast majority of America’s economy, the Fed almost always plunges the economy into a recession when it hikes rates — although that’s obviously not the goal.

Tiny Away is currently the only option for those who want to try tiny house living without going abroad. For one, there's a glamping resort on Lazarus Island that offers stays for a similar price to Tiny Away. But Tiny Away strikes me as ideal for guests looking for some solitude or a chance to experience the city-state minus all the high rises.
