New York CNN —Chris Wallace, the veteran journalist who has anchored weekly programs on CNN and the Max streaming service, is leaving the network, he announced Monday. “Chris Wallace is one of the most respected political journalists in the news business with a unique track record across radio, print, broadcast television, cable television and streaming,” Thompson said. In this case, Wallace told The Daily Beast that he decided to leave CNN to explore new platforms like streaming or podcasting. At the time, Wallace accepted a new role as the anchor of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” on CNN+, a streaming video product that launched in early 2022, but was shuttered weeks later when CNN’s parent company changed hands. Wallace’s talk show continued on the Max streaming service, and last year he added an eponymous Saturday morning panel discussion show.

CNN —Haiti swore in a new prime minister on Monday after a Spirit Airlines plane was hit by gunfire over the country’s capital Port-au-Prince, according to a diplomatic source in the country. All flights to Port-au-Prince’s Toussaint Louverture International Airport have been suspended until Nov. 18, according to Haiti’s civil aviation authority. It added that the aircraft has been taken out of service, and Spirit services to Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien have been suspended. Businessman Alix Didier Fils-Aimé was formally sworn in as Haiti’s new prime minister on Monday at a ceremony attended by various government officials in Port-au-Prince. Aside from 2020, it has been tradition for the current first lady to host the incoming first lady at the White House. In 2016, then-first lady Michelle Obama hosted Melania Trump for tea in the White House’s Yellow Oval Room and took her on a tour of the private residence.

Over the weekend, authorities in Kaifeng and Zhengzhou closed off bike lanes on Zhengkai Avenue, to try to stop cyclists from entering. To prevent students from joining the cycling crowd, some colleges and universities in Zhengzhou even imposed restrictions on leaving campus, according to accounts shared by students on social media. In the spring of 1989, university students in Beijing rode their bikes to Tiananmen Square to join pro-democracy protests that ended in a bloody crackdown by the Chinese military. Their journey quickly went viral, inspiring more Zhengzhou students to follow suit as the hashtag “youth is priceless” trended on social media. Others said local authorities should have been better prepared for the influx of students before they jumped in to promote the trend.

The controversy began early in the second quarter when Antetokounmpo caught Brown in the face with an elbow, picking up an offensive foul. Current and former Justice officials anticipate eventual departures in some parts of the department and employees being sidelined and forced out. The Justice Department is also charged with defending administration actions in court, covering issues from health care to the environment to gun control. “Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes,” he wrote in a Twitter post in July 2017. Trump told Fox Business in 2020 that Barr should indict Obama, Biden and others because of the Russia investigation.

But because she was having a miscarriage in a hospital in Georgia, surgery had to wait. Several others restrict it to certain points in pregnancy, including Georgia, which limits abortion to the first six weeks of pregnancy. Bell’s pregnancy was at 18 weeks — too early for her fetus to survive outside the womb but well past Georgia’s limit. Doctors told Bell she’d have to wait, unless her condition grew worse: Georgia makes people wait 24 hours before they can have an abortion except in medical emergencies.

CNN —Republicans flipped the Senate, but Democratic candidates often outran the top of the ticket, winning at least four battleground states that Vice President Kamala Harris lost. Harris lost all seven swing states to President-elect Donald Trump, while her party’s Senate candidates narrowly held Wisconsin, Nevada and open seats in Michigan and Arizona. In some races, the differences between the Senate candidates’ and Harris’ performances were more pronounced among subsections of the Democratic coalition. While Trump won independents by 2 points, Rosen won the group by 6. Overall, Democratic Senate candidates received more votes than Harris in about half of this year’s races, including in less competitive states such as Minnesota, Virginia and Missouri.

CNN —A Spirit Airlines plane was hit by gunfire Monday over Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince, according to diplomatic source in the country, resulting in what the airline described as “minor injuries” to one of its crew members. It added that the aircraft has been taken out of service, and Spirit services to Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien have been suspended. Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s main international airport, has since paused operations following the incident, the diplomatic source told CNN. I do my research, set realistic goals, and choose hikes that are firmly within my son's abilities. I try to avoid a hike we can't reasonably complete. Now I take the time to fully research the hiking conditions, and I'll watch full POV YouTube videos to be sure I have the lay of the land before committing to a trek. Yale University is getting in formation with a new course dedicated to studying Beyoncé. Following Beyoncé’s innovations and influence from her self-titled 2013 album to her latest, “Cowboy Carter,” students will analyze her albums, performance politics and concert films. One person is dead and "several" were injured after a homecoming weekend shooting at Tuskegee University in Alabama early Sunday morning. In a statement, the university said "a non-university individual" was killed and several others, including students, were injured in the shooting. The injured victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Tuskegee University did not share any details about the shooting, adding that the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident. It is not clear if there are any suspects in custody in connection with the shooting at this time.
