Rivian Automotive and Volkswagen Group have released details of their previously announced joint venture ahead of the operations launching Wednesday. The name of the joint venture, which was expected to close during the fourth quarter, is "Rivian and VW Group Technology, LLC." At the closing of the joint venture, VW will invest about $1.3 billion "as consideration for background IP licenses and a 50% equity stake in the joint venture." The joint venture will be headed by Rivian Chief Software Officer Wassym Bensaid and VW Group Chief Technical Engineer Carsten Helbing. The companies said developers and software engineers from both companies will join the joint venture.

The S & P 500 last week scored its best week since November 2023, hitting the 6,000 mark, while the 30-stock Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed above 44,000. Stocks seen as early beneficiaries, among them steelmakers and banks, are losing momentum, while others like Tesla are continuing to climb. Its shares are nearly flat week so far this week. Take a look at the lot: Tesla 's the most popular winner in the group, gaining roughly 21% since Nov. 6, boosted by CEO Elon Musk's close relationship with Trump. Other than Tesla, energy stocks Coterra Energy and Baker Hughes are also moving higher, the latter gaining more than 15% just this month.

Nearly 63% of the US population has fluoridated water flowing through their taps, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Hawaii is the only US state without any fluoride in municipal taps; fluoridated water is only available there on military bases. As such, fluoridated water is now mandated on any military base with more than 3,300 people. Rumors have circulated that drinking fluoridated water can lead to bone cancer (osteosarcoma), but long-term studies from both the UK and US haven't found any credible evidence of higher rates in areas where people drink fluoridated water. Their review concluded that some studies of fluoride consumption have found links between higher fluoride water levels and lower IQs in kids.
