CNN —Next week, an already very public debate over whether Ukraine should be allowed to use long-range Western-supplied missiles on Russian soil will come under an even brighter international spotlight. It was almost exactly a year ago, also during an in-person meeting with Zelensky in the United States, that Biden made the decision to supply the ATACMS to Ukraine. In both cases, Ukraine promised not to use them on Russian territory. Russia recently relocated planes from two bases near the border further east, according to one US official. To really bring mass (equipment), to get 10 to one artillery ratios on Ukraine at the frontline,” he told CNN.

AdvertisementWater temperature is too hotA lot of people think hot water should be the default go-to temperature. While hot water is going to give you the best clean, using it often isn't necessary or good for your laundry. I like to think of hot water washes as calling in the power washer — it's for when something is really stained, dirty, or smelly. But there are ways to get an extra good clean without always using hot water. Plus, you reduce your energy usage by 90% when you stop using hot water to clean clothes.

At least 45 people, including women and children, were killed, along with 16 Hezbollah militants, including the Radwan force leader Ibrahim Aqil and senior commander Ahmad Wehbe. Weakened militarily and stripped of its cloak of secrecy, Hezbollah has arrived at the most delicate phase of its decades-long fight against Israel. The Israeli military did not respond to questions about whether the site was impacted but officials confirmed direct hits nearby. This was one of the deepest hits by Hezbollah since the last all-out war between Lebanon and Israel in 2006. What is certain is that there are new unwritten rules of engagement between Hezbollah and Israel.

An Israeli-designed radar system encircling the island can detect passersby, in low visibility, from half a mile away. Often described as "butlers with badges," the Indian Creek police force is unlike most of its counterparts. The Indian Creek radar can detect objects on the water and use artificial intelligence to classify them according to the risk they pose. With the new security system, the Indian Creek police appear to have turbocharged their enforcement of regulations in the surrounding waters. Properties in the neighborhood are also being bought up by opaquely named LLCs tied to Indian Creek residents.

Along with the economy, young voters also name abortion, immigration, foreign policy, climate and gun control as other priorities. A recent GenForward survey conducted by the University of Chicago supports what dozens of young voters told CNN. Foreign policyAmerica’s position on the world stage is also top of mind for young voters. The Israel-Hamas war has proved to be a key sticking point for progressive and young voters, as well as Arab American and Muslim communities. Regardless of what issues are galvanizing young voters to head to the polls, many say they think their turnout in November will surprise some people.

The NYPD on Friday released body-worn camera footage from a weekend shooting at a Brooklyn subway station that started as a confrontation between police and an apparent fare-beater who they have said charged at officers with a knife. According to police and surveillance video from the station, Mickles jumped a turnstile at the subway station just after 3 p.m. Sunday, right in front of two officers. When a train pulls into the station, Mickles backs onto it once the doors open. All shots were fired by NYPD officers, authorities have said. “There was no need for any bullets to fly in the subway station, especially in a setting where the officers put innocent bystanders at risk.

A major exchange-traded fund and mutual fund manager finds the winning gold trade isn't talked about as much as the artificial intelligence trade — but maybe it should be. VanEck CEO Jan van Eck thinks the best investment this year is "the hedge against political cycles." But as of Friday, the VanEck Gold Miners ETF has started to outperform, up 31% this year. As for the AI trade, van Eck says it's "amazing" how investors refuse to give up on it. It's a companion to its VanEck Semiconductor ETF that excludes companies that run their own foundries, such as Intel .

Israel launched a rare airstrike that killed a senior Hezbollah military official in a densely populated southern Beirut neighborhood on Friday. The Israeli military did not provide the identities of the other Hezbollah commanders allegedly killed in its strike on the crowded neighborhood just kilometers from downtown Beirut. Israel and Hezbollah have traded fire regularly since Hamas' Oct. 7 assault on southern Israel ignited the Israeli military's devastating offensive in Gaza. The last time Israel hit Beirut was in a July airstrike that killed senior Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukur. After Friday's Israeli airstrike, Hezbollah announced attacks on northern Israel, two of which it said targeted an intelligence base from where it claimed Israel directed assassinations.

Normal blood sugar levels are typically within 70 to 99 milligram of sugar per deciliter of blood while fasting, and below 140 mg/dL after eating. New York City’s former Covid czar has admitted to participating in what he called “private gatherings” attended by multiple people while the rest of the city was on lockdown and large get-togethers were prohibited during the pandemic. “I served in City Hall between April 2020 — May 2021,” Varma said in a statement issued by his spokesman, Chris Vlasto. He became a national figure when Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving was barred from playing basketball in New York City because he refused to get vaccinated. At the time, New York state had increased the limit on outdoor social gatherings from 200 to 500 people. In the apparently heavily edited video, Varma appeared to recognize the hypocrisy of telling New Yorkers to isolate while he was partying with large groups of people.

An initial DNA test on remains believed to be those of Joseph Couch, the suspect in the Interstate 75 shootings, was inconclusive, but an autopsy confirmed the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, state officials said. The soft tissue DNA test was “inconclusive due to extreme decomposition of the body,” and a further DNA test with material extracted from bone will be completed, the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet said in a news release. The remains were found in deep brush by a highway exit in Laurel County, which is where London is and where the shootings occurred, state officials said. A couple livestreaming the search for Couch's body helped in the effort and the discovery, state police said. The DNA test from bone is expected to begin Friday and take 24 to 48 hours, the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet said.
