General view of the Towers and oil platforms of the State oil Company of Venezuela, Venezuelan oil Company SA. Oil prices steadied on Wednesday after rising in the previous session on fading excitement for the economic stimulus in China, the world's biggest crude importer, though an industry report showing falling U.S. crude and fuel inventories supported the market. Analysts, however, warned that more fiscal help was needed to boost confidence in the world's second-largest economy, which reduced the initial impact on oil prices from the announcement. Still, declining U.S. crude oil and fuel stockpiles provided some support for the market, which has generally risen since prices fell to their lowest since 2021 on Sept. 10. U.S. oil stockpiles dropped by 4.34 million barrels last week while gasoline inventories fell by 3.44 million barrels and distillate stocks fell by 1.12 million barrels, according to market sources citing American Petroleum Institute figures on Tuesday.

Anyone can place a bid for Infowars, including its dubious dietary supplement store, and use the property for any reason. Nothing would prevent him from continuing to broadcast under a new owner, although he would still need to pay off the debt he owes the Sandy Hook families with any earnings he may receive. There’s also nothing stopping Jones from continuing to speak about the Sandy Hook massacre or the families. The only way Jones would be prevented from speaking about Sandy Hook entirely is through a separate settlement with the families. Madison, Wisconsin CNN —The mayor of a central Wisconsin city who ran for office on his opposition to absentee ballot drop boxes said Wednesday he did nothing wrong when he put on work gloves, donned a hard hat and used a dolly to cart away a drop box outside City Hall. Drop boxes were widely used in 2020, fueled by a dramatic increase in absentee voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wausau, with about 40,000 people, was among the cities that did not use an absentee drop box in the August state primary. The Wausau drop box was under video surveillance but had not yet been bolted down. Wausau resident Pamela Bannister, speaking at a city council meeting Tuesday night, called for Diny to apologize and return the drop box.

We’ve had challenges getting the prime minister across the line. “We stay up nights trying to figure out a way to get across the line on this ceasefire and hostage deal. And we have spoken out directly about our concern when we’ve seen the prime minister not take steps that we think are necessary to get to that deal,” he said. Vice President Kamala Harris has frequently cited the importance of reaching a ceasefire and hostage deal but hasn’t detailed any new approach in reaching an agreement. “Ultimately the thing that is going to unlock everything else in that region is getting this deal done,” she said last week.

Washington CNN —Boeing factory workers felt pressured to prioritize production speed over quality and said they did not receive enough training to properly perform their jobs, according to the results of a special investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published Wednesday. In January, a door plug blew off a 737 Max operated by Alaska Airlines shortly after takeoff. One of the more egregious examples, according to the audit, was a Boeing mechanic who used an improvised measuring device to check gaps between components. But there is still much work to be done on fixing Boeing’s safety culture, he said. “I think the safety culture change is going to be a long-term project,” Whitaker said.

Protesters demonstrate outside the Labour Party conference venue in Liverpool against the withdrawal of the winter fuel allowance, on September 23, 2024. “It has felt a bit blunt,” a Labour Member of Parliament admitted after Starmer’s speech Tuesday, summing up the sentiment across much of conference. The measures were significant because Beijing has been holding back on a "bazooka" stimulus even though China's economy has been struggling to stage a convincing recovery post-pandemic. To be sure, this is not the first attempt China has made at boosting its economy in the past few years. However, Beijing's display of resolve also triggered market speculation that it's alarmed and panicked over the state of its economy, which is facing multiple challenges. Related storiesNotably, even on the heels of China's big stimulus announcement, most analysts also think Beijing still needs to do more to boost China's economy, particularly in boosting gloomy domestic demand. "Onshore stocks are a policy- and momentum-driven market, and policy signals don't get much clearer than this," they wrote.

Institutional portfolios will continue to underperform due to a lack of adequate exposure to Nvidia and other winning technology names, UBS warned. Strategist Patrick Palfrey told clients that large-cap managers have 4.4% exposure to Nvidia, despite the artificial intelligence darling accounting for 6.6% of the S & P 500 . That is the biggest underweight position ever in Nvidia, according to Palfrey. As a result, "a continued TECH+ underweight is likely to remain a headwind for many portfolios," Palfrey wrote to clients. The latest evidence came Tuesday as the S & P 500 hit a record high , boosted by a 4% rally in Nvidia as CEO Huang finished selling shares for the time being under a preset trading plan.

Just two days after Goldman Sachs named AT & T its top telecom pick, JPMorgan reiterated it as one of its best ideas. JPMorgan analyst Sebastiano Petti called AT & T a broader "value pick" as it currently trades on a valuation discount relative to other names in the sector. AT & T's ongoing fiber optic additions in its broadband businesses well position it for long-term growth, Petti added. Both Petti and Goldman Sachs analyst James Schneider highlighted a potential share buyback announcement as a positive catalyst for shares. "We expect positive wireless results and potentially a capital allocation announcement with the initiation of a buyback.
