Let’s be blunt about the stakes of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday. If Donald J. Trump wins decisively, as the polls suggest, he will be on track to win the Republican nomination without a serious contest. Ron DeSantis was the conservative policy wunderkind considered the GOP's solution for reuniting the Republican Party in a post-Trump world. Another 3% of likely GOP primary voters said they’d vote for someone else. To them, DeSantis dropping out (and quickly endorsing Trump) wouldn’t make Haley look like the safer bet, but Trump. This rally-around-Trump message likely makes Haley supporters even more of an isolated minority in the GOP firmament.
