In the Q2 CFO survey, 29% of executives said they were unsure who would win. The majority belief that Harris will win comes despite an equal majority of CFOs (55%) telling the survey that Trump is better on inflation and for the economy. The CNBC CFO Council Survey was conducted between August 19 and September 19, a period which included the presidential debate.

According to a UBS survey of investors with at least $1 million of investible assets, 57% plan to vote for Harris and 43% plan to vote for Trump. Harris wins 91% of Democratic millionaires surveyed, 12% of Republicans and 60% of independents. Trump wins 88% of Republican millionaires, 9% of Democrats and 40% of independents. While they support Harris more broadly, the investors who were surveyed give Trump slightly higher marks on the economy and taxes. If Trump wins, they said defense and energy stocks look attractive, but if Harris wins, they said health care, sustainable investing and tech stocks look best, according to the survey.

About 57% of registered voters report feeling negatively about Project 2025, with 51% saying they see the proposal “very” negatively and another 7% saying they view it “somewhat” negatively. Just 4% of voters reported viewing the conservative policy plan positively. Voters who identify as "MAGA Republicans" reported viewing Project 2025 in a slightly more positive light, with 28% saying they held a negative view of the proposal and another 9% saying they view the plan positively. Democrats have made efforts to tie Trump to Project 2025, a conservative policy roadmap from the Heritage Foundation aimed at laying the groundwork for a future Republican administration. “I know nothing about Project 2025,” Trump said in a Truth Social post in July.
