CNN —The United States reclaimed the Solheim Cup for the first time in seven years with a 15 ½ - 12 ½ victory over the Europeans on Sunday at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia. Team USA last won the Solheim Cup in 2017 with Europe winning in 2019 and 2021 before retaining the trophy in 2023 when the teams drew 14-14. 1 Nelly Korda led the USA’s challenge, winning both her matches as the USA underlined its dominance. That research, published in the journal Nature, overturned a century-old idea that the stone came from current-day Wales. The Altar Stone, the largest of the bluestones used to build Stonehenge, lies at the heart of the ancient monument in southern England. “The Altar Stone is anomalous in many ways to both the bluestones and the sarsens at Stonehenge,” Bevins said. But discovering that Wales was unlikely to be the origin site for the Altar Stone was a game changer, Bevins said. The researchers compared their findings with samples from the Altar Stone and found no mineralogical connection between the rocks.

CNN —Caitlin Clark added another milestone to her historic rookie campaign, breaking the WNBA single-season assists record in the Indiana Fever’s 78-74 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark entered the game needing just four assists to match the previous record of 316 set by Connecticut Sun guard Alyssa Thomas in 2023. Clark finished the game with 18 points, 9 assists and eight rebounds, while Mitchell led Indiana with 20 points in the loss. CNN —Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he is “happy” that a hearing into the club’s more than 100 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules will begin soon. In May 2023, Guardiola said: “What I would like is that the Premier League or the judges could make [a decision] as soon as possible. City has won the Premier League eight times and the Champions League once since it was acquired by The Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008. Neither City nor the Premier League would comment on the hearing when contacted by CNN. The hearing over the over 100 alleged charges is not the only dispute between City and the Premier League.
