Trump ejected Ramos from a press conference after the journalist confronted him over his immigration policy. In 2020, the Trump campaign derided Univision as “a mouthpiece” for the Democratic Party. A group of influential Latino organizations penned an open letter expressing “deep concern” over the Trump interview. Acevedo’s interview with Trump was the first time in 22 years a current or former Republican president sat with the network for an interview. Wade Davis, Univision’s CEO until last month, defended Univision’s approach in a memo shortly after the Trump interview last year.

New York CNN —Fox News anchor Bret Baier is all too keenly aware that Fox’s viewers want him to affirm what they already feel. And his recent social media activity shows that he is supremely aware of the Fox base’s extreme disdain for Harris and distrust of the media. Baier, the anchor of Fox’s 6 p.m. “Special Report” newscast, is also the network’s chief political anchor. But because the Arizona call presaged Trump’s defeat, Fox was scolded and second-guessed by many of its own viewers, including the sitting president. One X user told Baier they believed that the interview will “be pre recorded and the answers will be edited.

Duolingo CEO Luis von Ahn talked about his data-driven approach to "founder mode." A debate over founder mode was recently sparked by Paul Graham's essay advocating hands-on leadership. AdvertisementAmid the wider debate in Silicon Valley about how a CEO should run their company, Duolingo's chief executive is siding with a data-driven approach to founder mode. "Yes, I am in that mode, but we have a number of people who could probably play that role as well," von Ahn said when asked about founder mode. While this my-way-or-the-highway approach feels very indicative of founder mode, arguments rarely happen between the three executives, von Ahn said in the interview.

After years of pushing, everything looks ready for Saudi Arabia’s billion-dollar move to become a major force in tennis to take off — with one major hitch. The Ministry of Sport of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Tennis Federation (STF) and the WTA Tour then announced a three-year deal to host the tour finals. These moves raised Saudi Arabia’s tennis profile, but its potential new tournament at the start of the season was seen as the most important of its tennis investments — and its most divisive. It would cement Saudi Arabia’s place at the center of the sport, bringing with it an extensively criticized human rights record. Saudi Arabia’s moves into tennis have roiled the organisations behind the Grand Slam tournaments.

In total, Larsen has given around $1.9 million to support Harris' campaign directly and through PACs, according to FEC data compiled by crypto market and blockchain analyst James Delmore and independently verified by CNBC. Nearly half of all the corporate money flowing into the election has come from the crypto industry, according to a recent report from the nonprofit watchdog group Public Citizen. "What we've had to date has been almost like purposeful chaos by Gensler to kind of crush the domestic industry," Larsen said. Horowitz said that he and his wife, Felicia, "have known Vice President Harris for over 10 years and she has been a great friend to both of us during that time." There is an impending wave of new startups spinning out of larger AI labs, per Air Street Capital's State of AI report. AI labs are fragmenting due to ego clashes, philosophical disagreements, and commercial pressures. But as AI labs work towards the sector's holy grail, known as artificial general intelligence, those personalities have clashed — sometimes leading to a very public parting of ways. They are just some of the examples in a long line of AI labs that have fractured away from their juggernaut predecessors to form new startups. The exception would be if AI labs pivot toward building a niche model within a specific vertical, he said.

But strategy advisors say it'll need to get more serious about defining its public benefit. Unlike traditional for-profit businesses, which are primarily focused on maximizing shareholder value, public benefit corporations must balance stakeholder interests with those of their employees and customers. Investors can also question why a company isn't progressing on its stated public benefit. It will also need to define its "public benefit" as part of its new corporate charter, he added. So as OpenAI restructures, the pressure is now on the company to clearly articulate its public mission and show that it's serious about it.

Job seekers sometimes use AI to cheat in interviews, which highlights flaws in the hiring process. It can feel like there are endless ways to dupe a hiring manager in a job interview — especially one that doesn't involve meeting IRL. Starbucks is reversing a push into frequent promos on drinks and snacks, The Wall Street Journal said. It's part of CEO Brian Niccol's effort to reestablish the brand's upscale, premium vibe, it added. Narasimhan said on an earnings call earlier this year that 60% of the company's sales were from the nearly 34 million Starbucks Rewards members. Multiple baristas previously told BI that the size and frequency of rewards deals were getting out of hand. In curbing its discounts, Starbucks is bucking a wider retail trend that has seen companies such as McDonald's, PepsiCo, and Walmart cut prices.
