Last year, many on Wall Street were estimating the number of COVID-19 shots would be in line with the annual flu vaccine, which is the vaccine market leader with more than 160 million shots per year in the United States and 600 million shots globally. A recent poll by Kaiser Family Foundation found that two-thirds of American adults do not plan on getting a COVID vaccine soon. He added that instances of COVID infections in those who have been vaccinated has left many to question the effectiveness of the vaccine. The companies could make up for some of the weaker demand with price increases. That would mean annual revenue of $3 billion to $5 billion over the long-term for a company like Moderna, he added.
Venezuelan migrants, some expelled from the U.S. to Mexico under Title 42 and others who have not crossed yet, protest new immigration policies on the banks of the Rio Bravo river, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico October 18, 2022. Ciudad Juarez, next to El Paso, has taken most migrants, with over 1,000 people, followed by Tijuana, opposite San Diego, with close to 700, according to local officials. Mexico, meanwhile, is worried many Venezuelans are still heading north to reach the U.S. border, a Mexican official said. Venezuelan migrant Franklin Pajaro told Reuters he was sent to Ciudad Juarez on Monday with his wife and two children after six days in U.S. detention, without food, clothing or money. "They left us on the street," he said, as his four-year-old son Saul wiped tears from his father's eyes.
Federal lawmaker Basave from the center-left Citizens' Movement in the wealthy northern city of Monterrey said an analysis from leading cyber watchdog Citizen Lab found Pegasus on his phone in September 2021. Pegasus belongs to Israeli spyware firm NSO Group, which typically only sells the software to governments or law enforcement. When asked about Basave's case, NSO Group said Citizen Lab investigations are not able to differentiate between NSO tools and other cyber intelligence software. Citizen Lab said it rejects that assertion. Under the policy, up to 24,000 Venezuelans may apply for humanitarian entry into the United States by air. U.S. officials told Reuters that 300 had been expelled border-wide from the United States the day before. Ramirez said her husband was allowed to stay in the United States while she was sent back on Thursday, a move she called "inexplicable." Those trekking over land toward the United States have an arduous route through Central America and then into Mexico. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not immediately respond to questions about the separated Venezuelans.
Tens of thousands of Venezuelans have left their troubled homeland for Mexico this year to get to the United States. Up to 1,000 Venezuelans per day could be expelled to Mexico under the new agreement, two U.S. officials told Reuters. "We've been overwhelmed by the news," said Lizbeth Guerrero, director of an aid group for Venezuelan migrants in Mexico City. She forecast many people would press on with plans to reach the United States because they had nothing to return to. Those who could not enter the United States or find work quickly risked becoming prey for violent gangs, she said.

"They were given a contract they didn't even know about," Moreno said of the Panasonic deal with rival union SIAMARM. The dispute at Panasonic grew out of a vote last year in which workers rejected their union contract. Labor authorities then scheduled a vote April 21-22 for workers to choose between two other unions vying to take over the contract - SNITIS and SIAMARM. However, SNITIS says Panasonic signed a contract with SIAMARM ahead of the April election and began to withhold union dues from worker paychecks. SIAMARM, part of one of Mexico's biggest labor groups, the Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM), could not be reached for comment.
