“The Missing Thread, Untold Stories of Black Fashion” is filled with photos like this, as the showcase dives deep into the history of Black British culture from the 1970s to the present day — specifically, how it has been a forgotten influence on the fashion industry. British Jamaican photographer Vanley Burke has spent over 50 years documenting Black British communities in Birmingham. London-born photographer Jennie Baptiste is another artist getting her dues in "The Missing Thread." At the center of the exhibition is the work of Black British designer Joe Casely-Hayford, who died in 2019. Casely-Hayford was nominated for Womenswear British Designer of the Year in 1989 and also Innovative Designer of the Year in 1991.

However, the current scenario also offers an opportunity to pick stocks that could generate attractive returns despite short-term pressures. To that end, here are five stocks favored by Wall Street's top analysts, according to TipRanks, a platform that ranks analysts based on their past performance. The analyst said the results reinforce his view of Adobe as a winner in an emerging generative artificial intelligence world. With an Instagram audience of 1.2 million followers, a popular photo-editing app, and now a magazine, Tessa Barton — better known by her moniker Tezza — is building a media empire. The Tezza app, similar to photo-editing tools like Adobe's Lightroom or VSCO, announced this week that it had surpassed 20 million downloads and has about 2.5 million monthly active users. Turning social media followers into app usersGrowing an audience on social media helped the two cofounders build and grow the app. Barton's latest world-building play took place during New York Fashion Week in September, where the influencer launched a new magazine: Tezza Magazine. Its content pulls from brands Barton has collaborated with or admires, as well as art created by Tezza app users.

Exorbitant CEO pay is a frustration shared by Hollywood creatives and Detroit autoworkers alike. Since 1978, the CEO compensation among America’s 300 biggest companies has gone up 1,460%, while the typical worker’s pay grew by just 18% (both adjusted for inflation), according to the Economic Policy Institute, a progressive think tank. Over the same period, CEO pay at the Big Three Detroit automakers — GM, Ford and Chrysler parent Stellantis — has jumped an average of 40%, or roughly how much of a raise striking workers are now demanding. But a company’s profit depends not only on bringing in hearty revenue, but also on keeping costs — including workers’ pay — low. CEO pay went up 40%… No one had any complaints about that, but God forbid the workers ask for their fair share,” he told CNN’s Jake Tapper last week.

Tim Burton said AI art generators' imitations of his work felt soulless and lacked "humanity." He was referring to a BuzzFeed article that used AI to give Disney characters a Tim Burton makeover. Someone online prompts an AI art generator to imagine what a Wes Anderson version of "Star Wars" would look like, or Disney characters in the spooky style of Tim Burton. This BuzzFeed article features dark and creepy versions of Disney characters, like Elsa from Frozen. In an interesting twist, a federal judge recently ruled that AI artwork is not able to be copyrighted, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dan’s research and teaching focus is on using AI for legal services and the regulation of AI in society. For instance, we can develop AI tools to help individuals understand their responsibilities and rights, and preserve and enforce those rights. People in businesses, large and small, are already using chatbots, AI assistants and other AI tools to help them comply with laws, regulations and internal policies. Additionally, new roles are emerging in the legal industry, such as legal engineers who build systems, legal data scientists and legal operations professionals. AI tools will then quickly re-optimize decisions associated with inventory shipments, staffing and promotions.

That means Netflix, which is the only streaming company making real money. There's been a race between the major media companies to acquire users over the past several years, something you could describe as the "Netflix effect." There used to be a few dominant media companies, then the internet and cell phones arrived, and there was a fresh wave of competition and innovation. There's a strong chance that we're now moving back to a world where there's a few dominant media companies, albeit in different industry structures. And arguably, these new dominant media companies are more powerful than the old dominant media companies.

Iger, who returned to Disney as CEO last year, did not say how he would help bring the strikes to an end. Here's which entertainment companies will outperform, according to analysts and industry insiders. Four industry veterans Insider spoke with unanimously agreed that unless the strikes are resolved soon, the movie industry's much-needed revival will fizzle out. In a mid-July note about the movie industry, Reese and Pachter highlighted three theater-related companies that are best positioned to survive in this difficult environment. FuboTV should be a winner since it's a solid alternative for cord cutters who still need news and sports coverage, which aren't impacted by the strikes, Pachter noted. Netflix is perhaps the most fascinating company in the media industry right now.

I focused on a client nicheI started working as a virtual assistant in January 2021. I connected with clients organically on InstagramI put all my time and effort into making my Instagram profile engaging. I'd find clients I wanted to work with and comment on their posts and respond to their Instagram stories. I'd have about five or six clients on the go at a time, and I'd work for each one every day. With each client, I'd explain on the call that I had a minimum length of four months for each contract.
