CNN —Bruce Springsteen has postponed concerts in three European cities over the next two weeks due to vocal issues. The legendary rocker, 74, was due to perform with E Street Band in Marseille, Prague and Milan. He canceled two US shows in March and August over other health issues. He accepted the honor in a hoarse voice, which he attributed to an evening spent singing in the quintessentially British rain. “I’m gonna sound really weird up here because I sang in the rain all night last night,” he said in a speech.

This as-told-to essay is based on a transcribed conversation with Noland Arbaugh, Neuralink's first human patient to receive its brain-chip implant. I wasn't scared going into the surgery to get Neuralink's implant inserted in January. I know it's a long day, but it's fun for me, so it doesn't really feel like work. If I did see her, we'd usually have a brief exchange that went something like this: "How was your day?" I never planned to be the one to teach my teenage daughter to driveMy teen was more excited about learning to drive than I'd seen her in a long time. "You know, most of my friends' parents teach them to drive." Teaching my daughter to drive was daunting but ultimately very rewarding. It brought us much closer together and helped bridge the gap that often separates parents from their teenage children.

Her book “Over the Influence: Why Social Media Is Toxic for Women and Girls — And How We Can Take It Back” was recently published by Alcove Press. Unsurprisingly, the game has resulted in many calls to 911, car crashes, a school evacuation and dangerous confrontations with actual gun owners. Of course, it’s easy to see why kids are playing “senior assassin”: they’re trying to connect with one another. Their generation spends less time with friends and more on social media. Shayne Patrick Burke was on a short hike this month to photograph owls in the backcountry of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming when he spotted a grizzly bear cub about 50 to 70 yards in front of him. Instantly, Mr. Burke knew that the cub’s presence signaled trouble, he wrote on Instagram. Moments later, Mr. Burke, 35, was attacked by the cub’s mother. He turned his back, got on his stomach and locked his hands behind his neck, following advice he had read about grizzly bear attacks, he said. During the attack, on May 19, the bear repeatedly bit Mr. Burke and picked him up and slammed him to the ground, before, he wrote, one of his screams “unfortunately, but fortunately, turned her attention to my head.”

VanGilder signed up nearly four years ago and started taking the weekly diabetes injection Ozempic specifically for weight loss. The big difference between Calibrate and prior weight loss efforts, VanGilder said, is that she doesn't feel like she's dieting. Calibrate is one of the only companies to regularly release reports detailing the results of its weight loss program. The federal Medicare program by law can't cover weight loss drugs unless the prescription is for another approved health benefit, such as diabetes or cardiovascular health.

London CNN —Kabosu, the dog that launched a thousand “doge” memes, has died, her owner announced Friday. The Japanese shiba inu “fell into a deep sleep” on Friday morning at 18 years of age, Atsuko Sato wrote in a blogpost. As I was touching her, she gently passed away,” wrote Sato, a kindergarten teacher in the Japanese city of Sakura. The popularity of “doge” memes was cemented in December 2013, when Kabosu became the face of alternative cryptocurrency Dogecoin — a tongue-in-cheek response to Bitcoin that reflected the internet’s love of animal memes. An X post by Dogecoin Friday called Kabosu the community’s “inspiration.” “The impact this one dog has made across the world is immeasurable,” the post read.

The families of schoolchildren who were shot at Robb Elementary School in 2022 filed two lawsuits on Friday accusing Instagram, the publisher of the popular “Call of Duty” video game and a manufacturer of semiautomatic rifles of helping to train and equip the teenage gunman who committed the massacre. The unusual lawsuits were filed on the second anniversary of the elementary school shooting, in which 19 fourth-graders and two teachers were killed in their classrooms by an 18-year-old gunman who had purchased his weapon — an AR-15-style rifle — a few days before, as soon as he was legally able. Each company, the lawsuits claim, took part in “grooming” the teenager to become a mass shooter. Together, the suits are among the most far-reaching actions to be filed in response to the escalating number of mass shootings in the United States. The California suit, which names the publisher Activision, appeared to be one of the first to go after a video game maker for helping to promote weapons used in mass shootings.
