Top Wall Street lenders have created a big debt market back by red-hot Nvidia GPUs. A report from the FT says firms have made billions in loans to companies that use Nvidia chips as collateral. AdvertisementTop Wall Street firms have loaned billions to a handful of tech companies that have used Nvidia's artificial intelligence-enabling GPUs as collateral, The Finanacial Times reported. According to the FT, big financial institutions including BlackRock, Blackstone, Pimco, and Carlyle, have made over $11 billion in loans to "neocloud" companies, tech companies that provide cloud services to other tech firms building AI products. There are concerns, though, over the value of Nvidia's GPUs, with the price of existing AI chips potentially coming down as more advanced models are released and as companies potentially dial back AI spending.

Reliance Industries' boss Ambani hasn't updated his IPO timelines after saying in 2019 that Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail would "move towards" a listing within five years. The two sources said Reliance has now firmed up plans to launch the Reliance Jio IPO in 2025 as it internally believes it has achieved a stable business and revenue stream in becoming India's No. But the retail business IPO is not expected until after 2025 as the company first needs to address some internal business and operational challenges, said the first source. Reliance Jio is set to lock horns with Elon Musk if he launches his Starlink internet service in India, and Jio, which is also backed by Google and Meta, has partnered with Nvidia to develop AI infrastructure. Reliance, however, aims for the 2025 Jio IPO to be India's biggest ever, overtaking Hyundai India's record $3.3 billion IPO this year, said the first source.

There are 9 million "akiyas" — empty houses — across Japan, according to official government data as of 2023. These homes, often abandoned and left empty for decades, are scattered across rural areas and big cities, offering a unique opportunity for buyers with creative ideas. Urban migration is another big contributing factor to Japan's abandoned houses. Ultimately, "many Japanese [people] look at akiya as depreciating items that are more trouble than they're worth," Michael, founder of Japan real estate blog Cheap Houses Japan, told CNBC Make It. Six years later, Wormann owns seven akiyas, and works as a full-time content creator and real estate investor in Japan.

What kind of influence will Nvidia have on the 30-stock index when it joins before the bell this Friday? Instead, share price determines how much a single stock can move the Dow on a daily basis. A $1 move in any Dow stock translates to roughly 6.6 points on the index. By considering both share price and historical volatility, we can estimate each stock's potential influence on the index. Now, the inflation rate is nearly back to normal – miraculously, without the recession and loss of millions of jobs that many predicted. Harris also gets that the economic anxiety fueled by inflation has helped boost the popularity of her opponent, former President Donald Trump. And he’s got a point: The inflation rate never exceeded 3% under Trump – a far cry from the four-decade high of 9.1% under Biden. “I will end inflation,” Trump told a roaring crowd of supporters in battleground North Carolina on Wednesday. More than two-thirds of economists (68%) surveyed by The Wall Street Journal say prices will be higher under Trump than Harris.

Altman also emphasized saying no, echoing Steve Jobs' leadership philosophy. Altman said the team tries to be "rigorous" about straying away from "fantastical dreams" or goals — a strategy reminiscent of the late Apple cofounder Steve Jobs. But on Saturday, at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles, Kardashian debuted another cultural artifact — a diamond-lined cross pendant, once a favorite of Princess Diana. Alberto E. Rodriguez/WireImage/Getty ImagesKardashian bought the piece for £163,800 (around $212,000) in January 2023 during the final five minutes of a Sotheby’s auction. Her red carpet appearance over the weekend marked the first time the necklace has been worn in public since Diana’s death in 1997. Kardashian styled the necklace differently, shortening the pearl chain significantly, and wearing it alongside a stack of jewels, including a six-strand pearl choker. “Why are we still giving this woman precious heirlooms like Diana’s necklace after she broke Marilyn’s dress,” wrote one commenter on Instagram.

The euro rose 0.4% to $1.0876 but faces resistance around $1.0905, while the dollar dipped 0.3% on the yen to 152.45 yen . Analysts believe Trump's policies on immigration, tax cuts and tariffs would put upward pressure on inflation, bond yields and the dollar, while Harris was seen as the continuity candidate. "A Harris win and a split Congress would likely result in 'Trump trades' quickly reversed and priced out," he added. Uncertainty over the outcome is one reason markets assume the Federal Reserve will choose to cut rates by a standard 25 basis points on Thursday, rather than repeat its outsized half-point easing. Futures imply a 99% chance of a quarter-point cut to 4.50%-4.75%, and an 83% probability of a similar-sized move in December.

Singapore Airlines is planning to add a four-seat first class to the Airbus aircraft it uses for its longest routes, a bet to attract high-spending travelers to flights that can top 17 hours. The carrier will add the new seats to seven Airbus A350-900 URLs, or ultra-long-range aircraft that it uses for lengthy trips, including its longest, between New York and Singapore. Singapore said the new first- and business-class seats will have new in-flight entertainment but the carrier didn't disclose many details about the new cabins. Airlines have been investing billions of dollars to revamp their premium cabins to chase travelers willing to shell out for more space on board.
