So even for Grammy, Emmy, Tony and Pulitzer winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, his first songbook, containing 27 songs from “Hamilton,” “Encanto,” “In the Heights” and more, was a big deal. At the event, his nephew Alejandro performed “Dos Oruguitas” (from “Encanto”) on the piano, and was joined by his own teacher for “You’ll Be Back” (from “Hamilton”). You grew up with musical theater and piano lessons — how does it feel to have your own songbook? And it really was a teacher who brought me out of just writing songs about girls in the back of the classroom. That’s a really fun thing about the whole process: When you’re there early enough, your songs can really be a part of a give-and-take.
Amazon's "Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" may have struggled to attract young viewers. 71% of the show's audience is 35 years or older in the US, according to Nielsen's latest streaming data from Thursday, which measured through the show's fourth episode. Google Trends data shows that searches for "House of the Dragon" have greatly outpaced "The Rings of Power" over the last month. Julia Alexander, director of strategy at Parrot Analytics, tweeted recently that "The Rings of Power" is "a hit, except it feels like it's not." The two-episode premiere of "The Rings of Power" was watched by 12.6 million viewers in the US in its first three days.

CNN —“She Said,” based on the book on the New York Times investigation into Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct, made its premiere at the 2022 New York Film Festival on Oct. 13. In 2020, the former movie producer was convicted of rape in a New York trial. “She Said” recounts the 2017 New York Times investigation that exposed decades of sexual abuse by Weinstein. Zoe Kazan plays Times journalist Jodi Kantor and Carey Mulligan is investigative reporter Megan Twohey. Also in attendance at the premiere was Ashley Judd, who participated on the record for the Times’ exposé.
Jamie Lee Curtis is opening up about the struggles her daughter and other members of the transgender community face on a daily basis. There are people that want to annihilate her, and people like her.”Curtis’ 26-year-old daughter, Ruby Guest, whom she shares with husband Christopher Guest, publicly came out as transgender in 2020. That is terrifying.”Referring to herself in the third person, she continued, “So Jamie Lee Curtis is scared, and you should be too.”The “Knives Out” star ended her response by encouraging people to speak out against transphobia. “Jamie Lee Curtis has a voice, and she’s trying to use it, and you should too,” she said. Curtis said there were “tears involved” after her daughter came out to her.
The movie is based on the 2019 book of the same name about the New York Times investigation into claims of sexual misconduct by Weinstein, then one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood. After the Times story broke, some 100 women came forward with accusations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein. The reporting fueled the #MeToo movement, with women around the world calling out sexual harassment. Weinstein, who has denied having non-consensual sex with anyone, was sentenced in New York in March 2020 to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault involving two women. Weinstein is currently on trial in California on additional charges of sexual misconduct.

Oct 11 (Reuters) - Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) announced on Tuesday it will be pushing back the release dates for numerous upcoming Marvel films including, "Blade," "Fantastic Four" and "Avengers: Secret Wars." Following "Blade" director Bassam Tariq's departure from the project in September due to scheduling conflicts, Marvel has decided to temporarily shut down production of the film to search for a new director. "Blade" is now slated to premiere on Sept. 6, 2024 instead of Nov. 3, 2023, which has impacted the rest of the studios' production scheduling. The Marvel Blade character who first appeared in comic book "The Tomb of Dracula," written by Marv Wolfman in 1973 eventually had his own storyline that was later adapted into the Wesley Snipes film trilogy which includes, "Blade," "Blade II" and "Blade Trinity.”Throughout the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, stories have been intertwined and a significant delay from one film often impacts the slate for others. Gabby Jones | Bloomberg | Getty ImagesBenefits of bundlingFor consumers that buy many streaming services already, purchasing a bundle of them for a discount would be an instant money saver. For corporations, pushing together streaming services reduces the number of people who cancel each month, known in the industry as churn. But those companies also offer their own competing streaming services – The Roku Channel, Prime Video and Apple TV+, respectively – which could deter broader partnerships. Wireless companies already offer promotional pricing to streaming services as sign-up bonuses. From the standpoint of niche services, Peacock hasn't come to them with a coherent strategy, according to several people familiar with the talks.
