So this is a pretty hawkish 75 basis point increase when it comes to how the text reads." What it's telling us is that the Fed is expecting to rates to continue to move higher into 2023." There's a camp that says whatever the Fed guides to has typically been the floor and not the ceiling. This communication is basically signaling that the Fed's going to continue to be aggressive and remain hawkish. Not only did the Fed hike another unusually large 75 bps today, it is basically saying it will do it again in November.

Before joining Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment as its chief investment officer in 2018, Abrams served as a partner at Apollo for much of his career. For Brad Svrluga, cofounder and general partner of VC firm Primary, venture deals are ramping up. Here's why he thinks this new normal is good for founders, who need to set "rational expectations." Startup founders and venture capitalists across the country have begun to see signs of a fall comeback after the first summer slowdown in two years. In 2021, the hyper-competitiveness of the market meant that VCs were offering some startups term sheets in a matter of minutes. Still, for early-stage founders looking to raise today, the days of easy money and competing term sheets are gone.

New York (CNN Business) The New York State Comptroller said Tuesday that several of New York City's fiscal challenges could result in a budget gap nearing $10 billion by 2026 — potentially affecting essential services in the future. Total revenue is expected to decline by $10.5 billion in fiscal year 2023, according to a new report titled "Review of the Financial Plan of the City of New York." The city's fiscal position "significantly improved" last year, the report added, but that was due to several one-time factors, including higher than expected tax revenue, extraordinary federal COVID relief aid, and record pension returns due to the stock market's gains. Many of those factors have begun to reverse, the comptroller said. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said during a press conference on Monday that the city is getting ready to "enter a financial typhoon."

But this year, the rental market has returned stronger than ever and the pent-up demand has been great for property owners, agents, and brokers like myself. Apartment seekers aren't questioning rental fees, and deals on new leases are much harder to come by. My advice for anyone looking to secure their next NYC apartment is be extra preparedUnderstand that the market is highly competitive right now and things are moving at lightning speed.

As the dad of three now-grown sons, being a parent is one of the things that has always made me happy. Over the nearly 4 years I've been in business, I've pretty much seen and done it allHowever, the most common job I'm tasked with is assembling or rebuilding furniture. However, sea level rise to date has already been shown to have contributed to catastrophic damage done by storms and flooding, and accelerating sea level rise projected over the next century is expected to worsen the problem. “No one is calling the sea level rise experienced so far catastrophic, but global sea level rise has accelerated since about 1970 and will continue to accelerate until global temperatures are stabilized. Sea level rise is computed using monthly or annual averages to avoid this confusion,” he said (here).
